Akasha looked out at the room filled with people. No-one could see her where she sat quietly, at one of the wooden beams close to the roof.
Down on the floor the first person stepped forward to challenge a former spy. Akasha shook her head. She had greatly valued that person, but lately he had been passing information to an enemy. If he didn't get defeated, she would personally break his neck.
The fight was short and cruel. The man who had a death penalty hanging over him (quite literally) quickly banged the challengers head against the floor. When he was unconscious, the former spy proceeded to cutting his throat in one, grim motion.
Akasha smacked disagreeingly with her tounge. Everyone just assumed they had to kill each other to win. In fact, she had only said the other party should be put in a state where he or she couldn't fight.
After one of the bystanding servants had dragged away the body, a new challenger stepped forward to challenge one of the teachers.
He had golden, curly hair and looked as if he didn't belong in this kind of place. Apart from the clothes, he looked like a total office dweeb.A slight smile appeared on Akshas lips as she watched him challenge teacher Fahey. He was an old happy-looking man with a big beard and twinkling blue eyes. And, he only had one arm. People had a habit of thinking less of him because of that, but that's where they were wrong. He could kill four men at the blink of an eye and his saggy worn-out clothes hid a muscular body.
Apart from looking like a lost lamb, the pretty little boy was actually quite good. He attacked smart and fast, going for the vital points and not thinking too much or too little.
Of course he didn't have a chance against Fahey. His punches were way too weak, it barely made the sturdy old man flinch. Fahey lifted his only arm and punched him straightforward under his ribcage. When the blonde crouched forward, holding his stomach, Fahey kneed him. The knee hit his collarbone and Akasha could hear in break.
They guys body shook in pain, but he still managed to stand up and take a swing at Faheys face. He dodged easily and kicked his ankles so he fell over again. The same procedure got repeated time after time. But after getting struck down for the seventh time, and still trying to get upp, Fahey gave an approving nod and declared:
- You're mine now, pretty boy. Go get yourself put back together.
Two of the older disciples came and practically carried the guy away. It seemed as though he had fainted.
Akasha laughed quietly. Around the room many fights were taking place, but in her head she could only see a white porcelain face with ocean blue eyes, surrounded by golden curls.
This year was going to turn out pretty good, she could feel it. Maybe it could even be fun.
Nobody noticed as she sprinted across the roof and took a silent jump out through a little window.
In a few seconds, she melted together with the night.
