Chapter 14: heartbreak and a decision

Issei pov

I remember the day when it all came crashing down. The day I gave rias and the others the letter on the day of the wedding. Opening those doors to see their looks of confusion to see only me.

I could never look at them in the eye. I then the letter and walked outside of the church. After a little bit I see rias running outside with tears as she heads over to y/n's old house. The others followed suit as I ran from the back.

When we reached the house we found that y/n had burned it down the fires were still raging as we made it. Rias fell to her knees as she screamed y/n's name.

"Please come back to us. Come back to me y/n. I still love you." Those were the words that she screamed.

I remembered what y/n said to me. But I couldn't bring myself to take them for my own. Their hearts belonged to y/n and I can't change that. Plus I can never force them. Sure it would be nice of them to love me but y/n is like a brother to me. I can never forgive myself if I broke our promise.

So instead I looked after them. I let rias and the others use theirs hearts. But after the wedding day things took a turn for the worst. Rias and the group went into depression. Rias would herself only her room that she shared with y/n and cry herself to sleep.

Akeno began to blame everything on herself. She hated herself. Asia would pray to god in hopes that y/n would return day and night non stop. Koneko went mute. She never spoke a word to anyone unless it was for serious business.

Xenovia would train all day to get her mind off of things but most of the time she would break down and cry.

Me, kiba, and gasper tried our best to help them but we couldn't do anything. They all wanted y/n to come home. But I couldn't break our promise. Y/n wanted revenge and that's what he'll chase.

"Y/n. I don't know if you can hear me but I want you to know that they still love you. Even after all the pain you put them through." I speak to myself.

Present day

For the past two years we spent looking for y/n but he hid his tracks well. Finally after what seemed like an eternity we had almost found him. Only for a man that wasn't y/n to be the result.

Rias had lost all hope of finding y/n. So we finally headed home. As days past sir sechs has been looking into potential candidates for her sister's hand in marriage. Rias turned down everyone of them.

With every rejection she said.

"Y/n was more of a man than you'll ever be." That's all she ever said.

She refused to give up her body to any other man. She wanted her body to be only y/n's. Same flies for the rest of the ladies.

But one day a devil named Riser Phoenix has challenged and beaten us to a rating game. Now Rias AND the girls is forced to marry Riser in a few days and I couldn't do anything about it!

I failed as a pawn! I failed as a friend! I failed as a brother. I broke y/n's promise! I punch the wall in absolute anger. Kiba and gasper were already getting ready.

"Partner. I understand your frustration. But sitting and moping around isn't going to solve anything." Ddraig spoke.

"You don't get it Ddraig I can't just go in a crash the wedding. I'll be killed on the spot. Hell even riser took us down while I was in balance breaker!" I say in anger.

There was a long silence before Ddraig spoke again.

"Yes we cant beat riser. That fight was only the two of us." He said.

"What do you mean?" I ask him.

"Let's call y/n. Even though he is a human. His stubbornness is not human at all from what you have described him. With our combined determination, we might just beat riser and free the girls from their marriage." He spoke.

I say their dumbfounded. I have never thought about calling y/n before. But I can't! He said he never wanted to found by Rias! But. I want to help them. After thinking about it I decided to call y/n.

You see when close friends form you he bonds that makes us bois. We have a anthem. Song to play if we are in danger or in dire need of help.

Grabbing a special speaker I turned it on and I let the song play.

As the song played I waited for a bit for y/n.

Timeskip

About 3 hours have past but then I hear a knock at my window. Opening it I was greeted by y/n jumping through the window.

Y/n POV

After checking to see if Rias or the others were anywhere near I entered the window where we found Issei sitting there.

He gets up and he faces me.

"It's been a while y/n hasn't it?" He says.

I walk up to him.

"Yes it has, bro." I say.

He smiles as we share a bro hug.

"It's been so long. I'm sorry if we had to meet under these circumstances but I need your help." He says to me.

He then begins to inform me of the current situation and how he needed my help. Listening closely I put the picture together and I nodded my head in understanding.

So Rias and the others were forced into marriage by Mr. cuntucky fried chicken?

That's not good to say the least.

"So what are we going to do?" He asks me.

"Well I can't face riser because I'm a human. If I'm going to have a slight chance of fighting him I need to get stronger and fast. But how?" I ask myself.

"Why not become a devil?" Issei asks.

"If you do not only will you gain new magic abilities but your souls will survive the fate to the underworld." He says.

"Or you could become a demon." A voice says shocking us both.

We turn to face the source to see Lucifer sitting on Issei's bed.

"If become a demon you'll gain more physical abilities as well as being able to enter hell. But you be hated by the devils." She says.

I look to see Issei staring at Lucifer with a perverted look only to be hit in the sacred jewels by her foot.

What should I choose?

"D-don't w-worry y/n.  I-I will stand by your decision to the end." He says with a thumbs up.

Become a weak devil and potentially have Rias back with me?

Or

Become a powerful demon and be hated by all devils and be with Pandemonica?
