My eyes never left his form as he spoke. I made sure to concentrate on his words and focus on my composure as the program started. He listed off the objectives of the class and started almost immediately. It had been almost an hour of straight lecturing and presenting. My brian was swelling with new information and I made sure to jot down important notes along the way with the notepad I had brought from work.
"Alright, we shall take a 15 minute break. You may use the restroom if needed, down the hallway past the elevators." Dante had said after the presentation stopped.
Morgan turned towards me "wow. He's hot," she said with a whisper, and a small smirk on her face. I forced a smile and nodded my head. Is that all she gathered in the past hour?
"Do you have to use the restroom?" I asked her, noticing my currently very full bladder. She shook her head no and I got up to head towards the bathroom.
Exiting the room, I made sure not to make eye contact with certain green eyes. Walking to the end of the hallway past the elevator I eyed the doors for the women's room. When I spotted it I pushed through the door. Doing my business I flushed the toilet and proceeded to wash my hands at the sink. I looked in the mirror and cringed. Stressful situations cause me to run my hands through my hair repeatedly, which I must've been doing subconsciously. I flattened out the hairs that stuck up, and brushed a finger under my eyes to smooth out the concealer I threw on this morning. After drying my hands I turned to exit.
As I walked through the restroom door, I looked down to flatten out my dress, swiping my hands along the skirt.
"So you can find the women's restroom after all."
Startled, I looked up to meet the eyes of Dante Brown as he leaned against the wall across from me. I stopped breathing for a quick second, a bit shocked with the unexpected presence of him. Gathering my running thoughts I responded.
"Do you always wait for your program students to exit the bathroom, or is it just the ones that know you're a raging asshole," I spit back eyes narrowing.
He quickly stood and took one large step, stopping a near inch from me. Stuffing his hands in his pockets, which I'm sure were balled in fists he narrowed his eyes at me.
"No. Just the ones I make deals with in the back of a dirty nightclub," he said with arrogance. He smiled and ran his eyes across my face, stopping at my lips. I noticed his eyes darken just a bit and my heart skipped. No.
He continued with his running eyes and scanned my figure, taking his time as if he wanted me to know. As if he wanted me to shutter. And although that's all that I wanted to do, the heat of his stare almost too much. I cocked my head up grabbing his attention.
"Don't you have a program to run Mr Brown." I challenged him.
"I was just making sure you've found the right door, seeing as you couldn't locate such just days ago." He said back. Leveling his eyes on me. We kept heavy eye contact. No one wants to break first.
"Well I have located it perfectly fine," I started and stepped forward. Entering his space. Just as he does mine whenever he feels. I looked up "and if you could excuse me, I'd like to return to my program."
I turned away and walked straight for the conference room. I didn't need to look behind me to know his eyes were grilling my head from behind. I could feel it. Just as I could feel them scanning my body from head to toe.
Walking back into the conference room I found my seat next to Morgan once again, and settled in.
"Hey, you find it alright? I feel like it took you awhile," she said with a curious smile.
