He led me back towards the entrance of the building.
"Is that man still in there," I whispered, matching his pace to the doors. I didn't want to see him again, nor did I want another confrontation.
"No. He was escorted to the meeting he was set to have." Came Dante's reply as he opened the front doors for me letting me step inside. I mumbled a small thank you as we headed into the lobby once again.
He started in the direction towards the elevators and I followed close behind. Still holding my notebook and my bag close to my body, not keen to dropping it again. We made it into the elevator and he pushed the basement floor which must've been the garage portion of this building.
"No driver today." I asked, curious about his lack of a chauffeur.
"No. Believe it or not Amelia I can in fact drive and do enjoy it most of the time." He smirked down at me returning his attention towards the now opening elevator doors as we arrived at the bottom floor. I scanned the garage noting all sorts of fancy cars and such. It was amazing, I mean I didn't even own a car and barely knew a thing about them, but I knew for sure that they were fancy and very expensive.
He led us to this sleek grey one parked in a reserved corner spot with the title 'CEO' written on the pavement. I smirked at that, privileged little boy. He unlocked the doors allowing me to climb into the beautiful expensive sports car. Interior made probably with the finest of leather and the console looking like that of a modern spaceship. Wow.
"How about dinner, I'm hungry and I'm sure you are. We can discuss over our meal." He said after starting the car and turning towards me. I noticed the lack of space this small expensive car left between us. His body appeared much closer than I thought it would. His eyes scanned my face waiting for an answer.
I should probably say no. But I did want those answers. And I was hungry.
"Ok." And with that he smiled, throwing his seatbelt on and making sure to check that I had mine on as well before he put the car in drive and headed for the exit.
"Any preference on where to eat?" He asked while keeping one of his hands locked on the steering wheel and the other wrapped around the shift. God has his hands always been that big? And why was that such a turn on? Long slender fingers and a wide palm clutched the shift and heat flashed through me. I was a lost cause.
"Amelia?" He questioned again, turning his head ever so slightly to catch my eye. My cheeks burned at the fact I never answered.
"No, anywhere you'd like is fine," I shifted so my legs pressed together, leaning along the door and turned my head to watch the scene as we drove.
"Ok then, Italian it is." He answered and smiled, turning back to the road as he headed for whatever Italian restaurant he had in mind.
We arrived in no time, and he got out giving the key to the valet and then proceeded to open my door for me. He held out a hand and I gratefully grabbed it, getting up and standing from the car as he helped guide me. He let his hand fall to the small of my back and goosebumps appeared on my skin at his touch.
Approaching the door, he let us in and guided us to the front desk.
An older man and a young woman stood behind the counter, the women on the phone taking a reservation and the older man looking up to greet us as we approached. He smiled at me and then turned to Dante smiling as well, but his face held shock when he realized who was in front of him.
"Mr. Brown, to what do we owe the honor," the man said with a nervous voice and a wide smile.
"Just a table for two please." Said Dante.
