Percy's morning was... chaotic to say the least. He had never been an early riser. In fact, he'll admit it, he hated mornings. He liked mornings if he was excited about his plans for the day, but that hadn't happened in a long time. So now he mostly stayed up all night and slept in. Except this time he may have overdone it. If you've never been shaken awake by an angry blonde at four pm, Percy would recommend you stay that way.
     "Annabeth? what do you want?"
"Percy wake up!! I was trying to be nice and I let you sleep ALL day! I even covered you with your blanket—"
"Wait," Percy interrupted with a smirk, "You actually cared enough to cover me with a blanket?"
     "Not important!" hissed Annabeth.
Percy shrugged and hopped out of bed. Annabeth was already pissed because Luke was coming over soon and the apartment wasn't ready, Percy wasn't gonna piss her off more by continuing to sleep. He told Annabeth that he'd help her in a minute but he was gonna take a shower first.
When Percy stepped out the bathroom the apartment was already perfect. There wasn't one thing out of place and he guessed that Annabeth had lit a candle because it smelt nice. He sat down on the couch next to Annabeth, who glanced up from her phone with an annoyed look on her face.
"You took an hour to brush your teeth, take a shower, and get dressed?"
"Leave me alone, I was tired," said Percy.
After Annabeth made a few jabs at Percy for sleeping in so late, she started rambling on about Luke. Normally he would have rolled his eyes but Annabeth looked too excited to see I her "friend" and he didn't want to crush her excitement. Apparently she had spent what little money she had left on pizza, snacks, and a rental movie. Percy thought it was cute, but mostly stupid and annoying. He decided against commenting on it though. After finishing up the conversation, Percy headed to his room that way when Luke came over Annabeth had her space.
He pulled out his guitar and made sure that this time his headphones were plugged into the amp. He already made Annabeth mad at him for that again. As he played the familiar cords his mind wandered off. And strangely it wandered off to Annabeth. He had never really thought about her before but his thoughts drifted to her smile, her owl earrings, and the way she always smelled like lemons. He had gotten a lot closer to her than he thought he would, and he liked that.
"Holy Crap," Percy thought to himself. A whole hour had passed while he was thinking of Annabeth. He took off his headphones and stood up to grab a bottle of water on nightstand. It was weird though. The apartment was eerily quiet. To be fair though, it wasn't exactly quiet due to New York City but he couldn't hear any talking. Wait a minute, wasn't Luke supposed to be over right now? Percy decided he should check on Annabeth.
Percy walked into the living room to find Annabeth wrapped in a blanket eating a slice of pizza with mascara tracks on her face. He wanted to say something comforting but he had never been the best with words and if he said the wrong thing he definitely would have gotten hurt. So instead he just sat down next to Annabeth and put an arm around her. She leaned into the hug.
"Okay I know I'm going to sound really dumb, but are you okay?"
Annabeth shook her head no.
"I'm going to sound dramatic but I'm really upset because Luke didn't come over. I spent what little money I had on food and a movie and he didn't even bother to call! He just sent a text that said 'can't make it."
Percy had known the guy sucked but telling Annabeth that now wasn't going to do her any good and definitely wasn't going to make her feel better. Honestly Luke had some nerve. He asked Percy to treat Annabeth nicely like she was damaged goods and then couldn't even bother to call and cancel. Sending a three word text as a cancellation didn't cut it. Especially since Luke of all people should have known how excited Annabeth was. Percy wanted to make it up to her.
Percy pulled Annabeth into a closer hug, "So what are we watching wise girl?"
