Chapter six
Laylah resume at school and was doing fine, she was always happy and did well in school because it was her dream to study fine art, after her first year she became more determined and worked very hard, she painted and sold some of her painting to earn money so she could not only depend on her aunt, she became very popular in the school and many people liked her.
During her first  holiday, she went to aunty Ummi’s house, there she also did her paintings and sold them to their neighbors, when she was going to resume aunty Ummi told her she will be visiting Bilkisu in Zaria, if she wants she can come with her, but Laylah said she was not ready to go to Zaria. A week after Laylah went to school; Aunty Ummi called Laylah and told her she will be visiting bilkisu the next day, Laylah told her to extend her greetings to aunty bilkisu because they don’t communicate due to the absence of aunty bilkisu’s phone.
When Aunty Ummi go to Zaria, she called Laylah and told her that bilkisu was very sick ,Laylah became very worried and tensed, she wanted to go to Zaria to see her aunt but she has important things to do in school so she communicated very often with them to know how her aunt was doing, on the third day, Ummi called her very early in the morning and informed her that her aunt has passed away, she was shattered, she thought of all the things bilkisu had done for her; she felt so lonely because she considered her as her everything , it took Laylah a month before she could concentrate on her studies.
After her aunt’s death, she lost contact with Ummi, which made her worry and went to Ummi’s house, she found out that on her way back from Zaria, she had an accident which caused her death, Laylah went back to school, and she became more shattered, she don’t know what to do because it was they who were sponsoring her so she left school in her second year, she decided to come to Lafia and look for Yazeed because she thought he was her last hope.
So Laylah started looking for ways to contact Yazeed, she checked him on Facebook where she found his contact and called him, he told her he was in Lafia and so she set to come to Lafia, they started communicating since then and that was how she got to Lafia.

After two days, the man who brought Laylah came to the hospital, to her surprise it was Yazeed, he went out to wait for her because she told him she was coming to see him
“How are you Laylah?”
“I am fine, how are you too, it has been a long time since I saw you”
“I am fine, how is everybody at home and how did your father let you come to Lafia alone, what of your mother”
“Yazeed it is a very long story, so much has happened that you need to know but first let’s leave the hospital first, then I’ll tell you”
“Ok but I really miss you and we have a lot of catching up to do for all the time we were separated”
“Ok that’s a nice idea”
“So where will we start from”
“I’ll take you to my house first”
“ So you even have a house of your own? That’s good, you’re really lucky”
“Ok let me pay the bill then we’ll go”
“Alright” Yazeed left and the nurse entered the room
“Laylah do you know him?”
“Yes, he is the Yazeed I told you about, my childhood friend”
“Ok I now remember, but you are so lucky you found him”
“Yes I am”
“I guess your beautiful morning is here too”
“Well I pray so”
“Oh I will miss you when you are gone”
“That’s right I will also miss you too, my stay in this hospital with you made me forget my problems for a while”
“Oh it’s ok, it’s good to help each other, and you don’t know where it will take you to”
“But I think you should give me your phone number too, I will never forget you”
“Ok”
“And before I forget, what is your name”
“Oh my name is Fauziya”
“You have my cousin’s name”
“That’s good” Yazeed came into the room
“Laylah shall we”
“Oh yes I was just talking to my sister here, let me introduce you both” she pulled the nurse to where Yazeed was “Yazeed meet my new sister, Fauziya and Fauziya meet Yazeed my one and only best friend” they all laughed as they made their way out of the room.
“Goodbye Laylah, I am hoping to see you again”
“Goodbye, you will surely see me but not in the hospital” they all laughed as the nurse watches them leave the hospital.

Yazeed took Laylah in his car and went to his house, Laylah in her mind was so surprised with all she was seeing, and she felt a little bad because she did not achieve any of her goals
“So Yazeed did you read fine art?”
“No, I changed my mind after a while, and studied Architecture, because I thought they were all the same, what of you, did your father allow you to study fine art?”
“Hmm, Yazeed you are so lucky”
“What do you mean”
“That was why I said it is a long story” Laylah started narrating how things got from bad to worse in their house, her mother’s death, her father’s marriage, her education and her aunties’ death.
“Laylah I really feel bad for you but don’t worry I will try my possible best to help you but first let’s have some fun”
“What will we do”
“Let’s go to a very good restaurant and eat, then we’ll go shopping and since you are here we’ll also buy some food items, what do you think?”
“Ok as you say”
“First take your bath and get changed you can go to the other room I’ve prepared it specially for your arrival”
“Ok you are so sweet” Laylah went into the room; took her bath and got changed then she went outside to meet Yazeed.
They both returned in the evening, and then Laylah told Yazeed to take her to his parent
“Laylah it’s too late now, we’ll go tomorrow in the morning”
“Ok then, I’ll go and changed”
“Yes, me too”
