Chapter seven
In the morning, Yazeed and Laylah went to his parent’s house to greet them,
“Laylah how are you” Yazeed’s mother asked Laylah because she was the only one they met at home
“I am fine and you”
“I am fine how are your parents”
“Actually my mother died years back and my father got married to another but they are fine”
“Oh may her gentle soul rest in peace, but why did you come here all alone?”
“I came to visit Yazeed because it has been long since we met”
“Ok, but aren’t you married yet”
“No I am not”
“When are you leaving?”
“I will be here for a while”
“But does your father knows about it”
“No, right now my father does not know where I am because I don’t stay with him anymore”
“But why laylah”
Laylah narrated her story to Yazeed’s mother telling her why and how she left her father’s house
“Still laylah that is not enough reason for you to leave your father’s house, and after all you are a girl and one day you will have to get married, so do you think a man will like to marry a girl who does not know her responsibilities as a daughter? No, right, so I am advising you to return to your father and seek for his forgiveness or else no man will ever give you the self-respect you deserve”
“Okay mama, I will think about it”
“If you want, Yazeed will come with you, I know you are worried about how you will meet your father so don’t worry I will ask Yazeed to come with you” Yazeed came into the room “Mama, I want to discuss something important with you but for now we will be leaving because I have somewhere to go”
“Ok Yazeed but when will you come”
“Anytime I am free I will come, just don’t worry it’s nothing serious”
“Ok laylah think carefully about what I told you, have a nice day”
“Good bye”
“Good bye mama”
“Ok bye thanks for the visit”
Laylah and Yazeed left the house, on their way to Yazeed’s house, he decided to ask her about the discussion she had with his mother
“Laylah if you don’t mind, I will like to know what you and mama talked about”
“Well she told me to ask my father for forgiveness”
“Ok, but are you ready for it?”
“I don’t know”
“But if you are not ready, you can stay with me for a while”
“Ok Yazeed, thank you, I will never forget you”
“Don’t worry that is what friends are made for and also I have something I want to tell you”
“Ok what is it?”
“No not now, I will tell you when I return, right now I will drop you off at home, and I will have to go somewhere”
“Ok I will be waiting”
“Yes and there is someone you have to meet too”
“Who is that?”
“Do you know the doctor that treated you the other day at the hospital?”
“Doctor Khalid?”
“Yes I want us to visit him tomorrow”
“Ok but why is that”
“Well, you will come to know soon”
“Alright, we’ve reached good bye”
“Ok bye”
Laylah got off the car and entered the house and she decided to cook before he returns, wash the plates and clean the house, then she heard a knock on the door,
“Is he back?” She asked herself as she rushed to open the door
“Welcome back, how was your day”
“Oh, it was fine and you? Hope you did not get bored of staying alone?”
“No not at all, I actually kept myself busy with work”
“Ok that is good”
“Alright, go quickly; change your cloths then come and eat food”
“Wow did you really cook”
“Yes I did, what is wrong”
“Nothing, I just can’t wait to taste it”
“Ok” Yazeed went to his room and changed his clothes then he came to the dinning to eat
“This is your food”
“Thank you” Yazeed ate all the food and turned to laylah
“What a good cook you are”
“Stop flattering”
“No, really I’ve never tasted a food as delicious as this”
“Thanks”
“It’s my pleasure”
“You are welcome”
“Yes, about what I said I wanted to tell you”
“Yes, I am listening”
“I wanted to tell you since but I did not get the right place or the right time, Laylah I really love you and I’ll like to spend the rest of my life with you with your permission”
“Are you really serious? I don’t know what to tell you but I assure you that I will never let you down, seriously I don’t believe these good things are happening to me, you really made my day today”
“Laylah if you don’t feel comfortable with me just know that I am not forcing you into this relationship”
“No, you are not forcing me but because I had known you since childhood, I trust your feelings”
“Thank you for trusting me, I will never fail you” Laylah started crying
“Why are you crying?”
“I just remembered my mother; I wish she was here to share this happiness with me”
“It’s ok; you can consider my mother as yours”
“Thanks Yazeed, I am really lucky to have you”
“Ok, I have to meet my mother now, I will leave now”
“Ok bye”
Yazeed left the house and went to meet his mother, on his way his car tire got punched and he stopped to repair it and then he thought for a moment about his life.
