Riley's POV

I opened my eyes to see the bright whiteness of the ceiling. It took me a moment to remember where I was and what has happened. I tried to sit up but suddenly felt light-headed and fell back onto the cot. I tried again and this time I sat up. I felt slight pain in my stomach area but tried to ignore it as I got up. Holding onto the back of the chair as I took a shaky step forward.

"Uh," I moaned as the pain grew stronger and I reached to touch my stomach. I looked down and realized I was bare foot and in a white hospital gown. Suddenly I felt self conscious at how I look and as quick as I could, I sat back down on the cot to try to hide myself.

"Oh hey there, Sleeping beauty is awake." I heard someone say. I turned to face the owner of the voice to see a guy feeding another half-blood few cots down what seemed to be ambrosia. His dark-brown hair nearly covering his bright eyes and a straight look on his face. I couldn't help but feel my heart flutter and feel heat rise up to my face.

"Oh! Riley! You're finally awake." I heard Kara's voice say from behind me. "I see you have met Noah." She nods his way as she makes her way towards me with some nectar in a cup with a straw.

"Oh, I-I no h-he just-t um yea" I stuttered, trying to hide my burning face behind my hair, which has grown longer and the blue has started to fade away to a green-blonde where I had bleached it."

"So how are you feeling, now that you are up?" Kara asked, handing me the cup. I took a drink and the cool taste of blue-raspberry lemonade made me feel safe and forget about everything for a second.

"Hm?" I look up, straw in my hand as I kept drinking the soothing drink that eased the pain.

"Are you feeling sick or dizzy?" Kara said, trying to pry the cup out of my hand. "Let go!" She giggled.

"Drinking or eating too much of the gods food can kill you too, you know." Noah said seriously. I look surprised at Kara for her to second this. She nods, a serious look replacing her cheerful smile she had on seconds ago.

"Oh," I said looking down at my hands. "So... When can I get out?" I asked after an awkward silence and motioning towards the door. Suddenly I realized that I don't know where Harpe is at and I start to look around frantically, throwing the covers off the cot. I find her under my pillow, the bronze shining brightly in the sunlight and it seemed to be calling my name, wanting to be opened and swung around: at mannequins, things, monsters, or even possibly people if I felt like it.

"Girls with their make-up," Noah smirked and shook his head as he washed his hands in a nearby sink.

"Does this look like fucking make-up to you now?" I growled as I felt the familiar weight of Harpe as she grew in my grasp and pointed it at him. I seriously pissed me off when guys assumed that I was like the other girls, just because my weapon was conceled as fucking lipstick.

"Geez chill. And how was I supposed to know that?" He said, his gorgeous eyes grew wide and he shakily moved his hair out of his eyes. Gods, he's killing me with this.

"Know your facts before you speak so soon." I say as I cap Harpe and hide her in the palm of my hand.

"Aren't you supposed to be Poseidon's kid?"

"What's that supposed to mean?" I eyed him.

"That sounded like something the Hoots would say."

"The 'hoots'?"

"Yea, that's what we call Athena's kids, 'cause they're a HOOT to be around." He chuckled and I heard Kara laugh from my side.

"Oh." I said trying not to sound too offended. "Well, you don't have to be a 'Hoot' to know some things." I blushed. "Can I leave?" I asked, looking at Kara with pleading eyes.
