Looking out for E

The sun was blocked by the forever clouded sky. Here on the Isle of the Lost sometimes you couldn't tell if it was day or night. The only thing that would give it away is if you could see King Beasts castle.

Mal and Jay were skulking in one of the many dark alleyways that can be found on the Isle of the Lost. Jay was emptying his pockets to show Mal his latest scores.

"Look at this dagger that I got from Ginny Gothel," He said throwing it to Mal.

"Woah, Look at the handle!" Mal exclaimed. "This must be Mother Gothel's actual dagger." The dagger had a gold ornate hilt with a flower molded into the base of the handle. "How much will you dad get for it?" She asked.

"$9.50 at least! It could even be more!" Jay was very pleased with himself. Not only had he nabbed Ginny's dagger but he had stolen Anthony Tremaine's watch and Uma's shell necklace as well as Harry Hooks hook.

"Let's get this back to my dad's and make them buy it back before we get caught with them," Jay said stuffing them into his red and yellow leather jacket. "Oh, and I'll have the dagger back now Mal."

Mal pulled the dagger out of her purple jacket and handed it back to Jay.

"I only wanted to give it to Evie so that she has a way to protect herself from the old crone," She said.

"So, what is going on with you and Evie?"

"I don't really know to be honest," said Mal as she scuffed her feet on the broken stone alley floor. "I mean sometimes we are inseparable and laugh at each other's jokes then I won't see her for days on end and when I do see her its like she is a different person. She won't tell me what's wrong either, so I have no idea if it's something I did or something that I said," Mal explained.

"Well you could try asking her what's wrong," suggested Jay as he slipped the dagger back into Mal's pocket without her noticing as she walked past him further down the ally. She might not have seen it, but she defiantly felt the dagger when she put her hands into her pockets a few seconds later.
Wind whipped through the alley making Mal put her jacket closer to try and keep warm. That is another thing that Mal had to think about. She needed to get Evie some clothes to wear in the winter. Winters on the Isle were cold and bitter and wet. Winter was just around the corner and she knew for a fact that the old crone only let Evie wear the skimpiest and most revealing clothes. Evie had no coat or trousers and Mal would always have to give Evie her coat if she grew cold, which was everyday now. Not that she minded really but E didn't want anyone to know about them. With the exception of the boys of course. The only place that they could be themselves was in their hideout this meant that the boys had seen the relationship grow and pushed the two friends into the right direction- towards each other.
