Y/n sat in her living room, her heart fluttering with anticipation and anxiety as she awaited the news her mother had promised. The uncertainty of whether the news would be good or bad left her fidgeting nervously, her fingers tracing patterns on her lap as she tried to steady her racing thoughts.
The door creaked open, "y/n..." her mom called out causing y/n to respond with an over here.
"So um.." her mom started.
"After you graduate, we'll be moving to the states." Her mom said.As y/n's mother delivered the unexpected news, y/n's confusion deepened, her head tilting slightly in disbelief. The prospect of moving to the states after graduation caught her off guard, leaving her uncertain about what the future held."You can either stay here or... go with us," her mother's words hung in the air, presenting her with a difficult choice that she hadn't anticipated. Caught between the familiarity of her current life and the uncertainty of a new beginning, y/n grappled with the weight of her decision, knowing that either choice would have profound implications for her future.
A choice loomed before her: to stay behind or to uproot her life and follow her family to a new beginning.Confusion clouded her thoughts as she struggled to comprehend the sudden upheaval in her plans. The irony of the situation wasn't lost on her—how the world seemed to present loopholes and uncertainties at every turn, leaving her grappling with decisions that could alter the course of her life forever. In that moment of uncertainty, y/n couldn't help but wonder if perhaps this was just another twist in the intricate tapestry of fate, a reminder that the world was full of unexpected twists and turns. Yet, amidst the chaos, one thing remained clear: whatever choice she made would shape her future in ways she couldn't yet fathom. As y/n lay awake, her mind consumed by the weight of her decision, she couldn't help but wrestle with the question: Should she go with her family to the states after graduation? On one hand, the idea of starting anew in a different country held a certain allure—a chance for adventure, new experiences, and opportunities. Yet, the thought of leaving behind everything she knew, her friends, her routine, and the memories she held dear, filled her with a sense of loss and uncertainty. As she weighed the pros and cons, y/n knew that the decision wouldn't be easy. It would require courage, sacrifice, and a leap into the unknown. And so, with a heavy heart and a mind full of possibilities, y/n vowed to listen to her heart and follow where it led her.

As y/n made her way to school, she found herself accompanied by Iwaizumi, a welcome change from her usual solitary journey. Despite his reassuring presence, she couldn't shake the feeling of another person walking beside them, their footsteps echoing in the quiet morning air.Though y/n chose to ignore the presence of the other male, she couldn't help but feel a pang of discomfort at their proximity. Yet, with Iwaizumi by her side, she found solace in the familiar comfort of his friendship, a silent reminder that she wasn't alone in navigating the uncertainties of her future.
Hajime's whispered question hung in the air, his concern palpable as he reached out to y/n. "How are you..." he murmured softly."Better," y/n replied with a forced smile, her words belying the turmoil within her. What a joke, she thought bitterly. What a lie. Can't you see, Iwaizumi? I'm broken, heartbroken. I'm numb. With a quickened pace, y/n moved forward, determined to avoid any further conversations that might expose the cracks in her façade. Yet, despite her efforts to mask her pain, the weight of her heartache lingered, a silent burden she carried alone.

As y/n and Iwaizumi walked in silence, the weight of unspoken words hung heavy between them. Despite Tooru's raspy voice and the ache in his heart, y/n remained resolutely silent, her determination to stick to her word palpable.Unbeknownst to her, Tooru's eyes welled with tears, his heart feeling as though it were being pierced by swords, the pain a constant reminder of the consequences of his actions. He couldn't help but wonder if he deserved this anguish, if he deserved to feel the weight of his mistakes bearing down on him. With each step forward, Tooru grappled with the turmoil within him, torn between the remorse for his past actions and the hope for redemption. He knew that he had hurt y/n deeply, and the pain he felt now was a harsh reminder of the wounds he had inflicted upon her fragile heart. Yet, even as he wrestled with his guilt, he couldn't shake the gnawing doubt that perhaps he deserved this suffering as a consequence of his own choices.
As y/n's eyes began to fog up and her chest tightened with an unfamiliar ache, she couldn't help but question the turmoil stirring within her. Why was this hurting her so much? Why couldn't she simply ignore it and move on? And why did her heart seem to whisper words of forgiveness, even as her mind screamed for her to stay guarded? The conflicting emotions tugged at her, tearing her in opposite directions. Her heart, ever hopeful and compassionate, urged her to forgive Tooru, to give him another chance despite the pain he had caused. But her mind, weighed down by the scars of past betrayals, warned her to tread cautiously, to protect herself from further hurt.In the midst of this internal struggle, y/n found herself grappling with the age-old battle between heart and mind, torn between the desire for closure and the need for self-preservation. And as the tears threatened to spill from her eyes, she realized that finding the balance between forgiveness and self-care would be her next greatest challenge yet.
As y/n hurriedly took her seat, her movements betraying the unease churning within her, she pulled down on her sleeves, a subconscious attempt to hide the vulnerability she felt exposed. To her dismay, she noticed Tooru's gaze lingering on her, his eyes betraying a flicker of concern amidst the tumult of emotions swirling within him. Meanwhile, y/n's phone rang, breaking the tense silence of the classroom. With a quick glance, she saw the notification, her heart skipping a beat as she wondered who could be reaching out to her at this moment of turmoil.
Oikawa: meet me on the roof again, at lunch.
As y/n gazed out the window, her mind wandered to Heather, the one who seemed to have everything she desired. Yet, beneath the facade of happiness, y/n couldn't help but wonder if Heather too experienced moments of pain and doubt. But then again, perhaps Heather truly was as content as she appeared, her happiness untouched by the turmoil y/n found herself engulfed in.A pang of guilt tugged at y/n's heart as she realized the consequences of her actions, the pain she had caused to those around her. Yet, despite her remorse, a single wish burned brightly within her: a longing for something, someone, that eluded her grasp."I'm sorry, Heather," y/n whispered softly, her voice barely audible over the hum of the classroom. "But I truly wish for one thing, and one thing only." And as she uttered those words, her heart clung to a fragile hope, a whispered prayer for a future that seemed just out of reach.
I wish I were heather.
