Amara Gallagher was forced to take care of her siblings alongside her oldest sister Fiona. She is still in high school and works a minimum wage job only sleeping 4 hours a day to help her sister pay the bills. But the Gallagher clan just has shit luck and seemed to given up hope, until an offer came along that would change their lives.
A house in Forks Washington had become available, it had space it had a local school, it was remote, and it was cheap enough that Amara and Fiona decided they would save and see if the price got any lower before they tried for it.
It was hard saving when they already owed so much, and at some point someone else came along and took the house ruining their plans. But they continued to save in case another house opportunity came along. After a year or two the same house became available once again even cheaper then before. It was a sign.
Fiona had promised to be the one to be the one to mention it to the kids....... a few days later Lip was cursing downstairs making my ears perk and making me rush down.
"YOU CANT JUST MOVE ME ITS MY SENIOR YEAR!" Lip yelled in frustration making me stop in my steps. He already heard me coming however and looked at me in hope, "Amara Fionas trying to move us across the damn state please help me try and talk her out of it!" He said in a begging tone but he could read me easily. "Wait? Your helping her with this?" He asked in disbelief. "Lip we need to raise the kids somewhere away from....all this. Give them more then we ever had." I tried explaining but he was angry and just stormed away making me sigh and shake my head the others actually seemed excited.
Ian also seemed upset having had a friend that he was finally getting through to. "What am I supposed to do about Mandy I love her, I can't just leave her." He said it with so much determination. I looked to Fiona and moved my head to the side indicating I wanted to speak to her.
"We could always bring Mandy with us?" I asked knowing the answer already. "Amara you know her dad and brothers wouldn't allow that, and she is still a minor. Plus that's another mouth to feed. I feel bad for Ian too but..... we have to do this." She said wearily making me nod. "I know.....but what if Ian runs away or......has an....episode." I say quietly not wanting to upset him. Mandy was his 'girlfriend', me and lip only knowing that she was a ruse since Ian is gay. But him and Mandy have gotten so close it pained me to my brother losing one of his only close friends. Plus he'd have to join a different ROTC, which might be hard seeing he just got promoted here and knew everyone.
He had his episodes sometimes, I kinda figured it was a little like Monica...... I don't call her mom anymore. She's been gone most of my life I barely knew who she was until she showed up one day when I was 10 trying to use Frank my biological father. He let her. Frank loved Monica and I don't understand why he repeatedly lets her in when all she does is take and take. Frank? He lives with us as well. Which means he would probably have to come with as well. But knowing him his addiction to drinking will still happen in Washington once he finds a place to get his shit cheap.
