She was like the second designated mother of the group other then Fiona. Still in high school, working anytime shes not at school. To the point she is practically sleeping in her classes and looks like a skeleton. But the family ends up getting a lu...

The next day Amara was actually excited for school, not for the education but the new friends she had made. She was in a bit of a rush to get ready which earned a lot of teasing from her siblings. Even Fiona joined in all making kissy faces and teasing her about Paul Lahote. It soon quieted down when Fiona began cursing noticing the calendar, electric would be due in a week, and the rest of the utility bills. Fiona would get paid before hand but it wouldn't be enough to get the house payment.
"I picked up a tutoring gig after school so I should get some cash." Lip said as he sat at the table ready for breakfast. "I have a new job starting today at the local grocery store." Ian announced also sitting as Debbie and Carl came to sit. "I can babysit some of the local kids this week." Debbie said already drawing her posters to hang up and pass around. "I have a job interview after school today for some sport shop in Forks." Amara smiled putting Liam in his high chair.
All eyes then went to Carl. "What? I'll go scavenge something from somewhere." He exclaimed eating some cereal as Fiona turned his dirty shirt inside out. "Well I've actually been wanting to tell you guys something. Veronica and Kev are coming here!" Fiona exclaimed happily excited to see her best friends. All the kids choruses happily. "Wait but where will they be staying?" Amara asked hoping it was close Veronica always helped out in Chicago. So did Kev although he wasn't as happy about it.
"That's actually what I wanted to talk about..... how would you guys feel about giving them the basement?" Fiona asked and everyone cheered besides Debbie who looked upset. "But that's where dad sleeps?" Debbie said making everyone worried how she'd react. "Well Debs he doesn't exactly sleep anywhere besides the kitchen floor anyway." Lip explained as everyone agreed but she still looked sad.
"Plus we can get him a dresser and put it in the closet for his clothes if he wants to change." Amara said looking at Fiona to agree knowing Debbie would throw a fit other wise. "Yeah and besides with Kev and Veronica here maybe we can save some money and build him a room..... it just might take awhile." Fiona explained although most of the kids knew even with extra money it'd go to something more important.
"Okay.... I guess." She sighed sadly as I stood awkwardly and grabbed my bag. "Come on Hellions! School time!" I said ready to see my friends and Paul already. I also just wanted to avoid making Debbie upset anymore. All the kids snickered at my excitement before Fiona stopped us all. "Who's got Liam?" She asked and everyone looked around waiting for someone to take him. "I'll take him but Debbie your in charge when I drop you guys off after school." Amara said pointing at her and Carl but more so her.
She carried him on her hip and carried a diaper bag along with her backpack out to the van. All the little rebels followed Amara as Fiona began her walk in the opposite direction to the diner. Amara dropped off Carl and Debbie, then she Ian, and Lip pulled into the parking lot. Eyes went to them in interest over the fact they were new and friends with cult already. But even more eyes went to them as Amara carried out Liam on her hip with her bag and his diaper bag. Whispers began but Amara and her siblings shook it off as nothing. Seeing Kim Amara practically rushed to her with an excited smile. She hadn't seen Paul quite yet and brushed it off.
"Hi Kim, meet Liam." I smiled showing her him and she began cooeing instantly and holding him. "He's so cute..... is he yours?" She asked a bit timid but Amara just began laughing wholeheartedly as her brothers snickered. "No this is our brother Liam." Lip explained making her nod and smile but still look confused. "And why did you bring him here?" Kim asked making me a little self conscious but I didn't show it by shrugging with a simple why not.
Hooting could be heard behind them and Amara recognized the voice and shook her head to herself. Looking over her shoulder she smiled as she saw Paul walking with Jared over to them. His eyes looked right at her and then trailed to Liam with a quirked eyebrow but he didn't question it. Jared on the other hand..... "Whoa who's baby is that?" He asked with shock thinking one of us had a kid. "Jared this is our brother Liam, Liam this is Jared." I say making Jared nod slowly before rushing to Kim's side.
"Hey can I hold him?" Paul asked which made Kim and Jared look at him like he had taken a crazy pill but none the less Amara took Liam from Kim and handed him happily to Paul. She hated having to bring Liam to school, always carrying him and getting judge like she was now. Everyone at school began whispering about her but she pretended not to care. "So um Amara why couldn't your parents watch him?" Kim asked timidly and my body seemed to tense as Ian and Lip looked awkward as well. "My mom ran out a long time ago. And my dad.... let's just say he's not exactly father of the year." I said sighing as Lip and Ian nodded agreeing.
"Which reminds me Frank was very upset after you left last night." I said as Paul and I walked shoulder and shoulder to class. He smiled at me happily making me wish he never had to see Frank being a bad drunk.... but it'd be inevitable. "What can I say I'm a pretty missable guy.... did you miss me?" he asked as he passed Liam back to her. Amara looked at him with suspicion but smiled anyway. "Yeah actually I did. And you missed me right?" She asked like She was teasing but actually meant it. "Of course I did. In fact I'd like to take you out tonight?" He asked a bit nervous but Amara felt a smile grow and hurt her face how happy she was. "Like a date?" She asked shuffling Liam up in her arms.
"Yeah like a date." He smirked making her blush but nod. "I have a job interview after school but I should be free after 7?" She says as he nods enthusiastically. "Sounds perfect, I have something I'm planning." He hints and Amara feels herself blush and can't meet his eyes. "Alright well enjoy class I'll see you next period okay?" He says as he leaves making her realize he walked her to her classroom making Amara smile like an idiot. She walks in and the teachers eyes seem to burn into her but she just ignores it and take her seat in the back.
All eyes were on them making Amara look at them all with a raised eyebrow. "What never seen a black kid before?" She asks making them turn away quickly besides the teacher who didn't appreciate the racial comment. "Ms Gallagher why do you have a baby in my classroom?" The teacher asks with a pointed look but Amara easily made false tears come to her eyes and began fake crying. "Im so sorry I had no where else to take him and I don't have money for a sitter." She said crying and making the teacher look uncomfortable. The Gallagher women know how to play the guilt trip with their fake tears.
The teacher just sighed and left it alone and Amaras fake tears dried up immediately making Kim giggle beside her before focusing on the board. Lucky for Amara Liam was a pretty easy kid he barely cried at all let alone when She was carrying him around class to class. Paul was actually the most helpful which made a weird flutter form in her stomach whenever he helped out or walked with them. People soon started having rumors that they were together and that he was gonna help raise Amara's unplanned love child.
But she didn't mind the rumors as long as she had him there to make her feel secure.
