Chapter 2

    

Aqua my twin sister stands out with her ocean blue knee length hair up in a tight ponytail on the high-crown of her head. I walk down to her quietly taking my seat.

"Flame Cross?" I see the new teacher, "you're late ... Very late, you need to be on time to my classes" he continues. His voice is rough, strong, and a little shocked at the sight of me. I lean over to Aqua who is doodling aimlessly in her notebook and whisper "Dang he isn't half bad."

"Yeah I'm Flame Cross, call me Flame though. But I don't know your name. Oh, and by the way, I come to class when its convenient for me" I tell him oh-so-smoothly.

"Well then," he counters "it must be convenient for you to step outside for a moment" he finishes in a matter-of-fact tone of voice. "Sure" I put simply with pure attitude lacing the small four letter word. I get up and go down to the side door at the front of the classroom.

I stop abruptly when I hear it. "Flame" it repeats over and over again. I try to move, but I can't, it's as if I'm glued to this spot. The voice continues to call my name. "Flame, Flame, come to me" the silky, beautiful voice starts to sing out to me.

All the sudden I start to feel so dizzy. And, I can feel myself falling. I brace myself for the impact of hitting the floor. But instead of hitting the floor, someone catches me. I can feel an arm around my waist and another one catching my head.

With blurred vision I make out my sister, Zero, and the new teacher. Aqua and Zero are looking overly concerned, while the teacher Toga Yagari -which Aqua told me before I had come up to the front of the class- is the one who caught me. Ignoring my siblings, I feel him pick me up.

One arm holding my legs and the other hold my back, with my head being cradled in the crook between his arm and chest. After that, I black out.

When I wake up I'm in the infirmary with my father, sister, brother, Toga Yagari, and that creepy pure blood Kaname Kuran. My family is talking about what happened, while Kuran is glaring daggers at Kyōshi Yagari who is sitting next to the bed I'm lying. Kyōshi Yagari looks to be asleep. Careful not to disturb him I carefully sit-up. Of course this is the noisy bed so it squeaks LOUDLY in the quiet of the room. The noise causes my family and Kuran to turn their attention to me and not what they were just doing. The once asleep Yagari is also now looking at me, he gets up going over to the sink wets a rag. Walking back over to me he places the damp cloth on top of my forehead.

It's cool, and refreshing against my heated skin. "Thanks and shouldn't we be going to class?" I say slightly wondering why the two who aren't my family is here as well. "Flame, she randomly passes out and when she wakes up right back to work. No because of what happened the students were sent back to the dorms and classes were cancelled for the rest of the day" Kuran replies as if he really knew what exactly makes me tick. Not liking his tone of voice, all of us send glares at his way while he remains oblivious with that same smirk on his face that he always seems to have around me.
