"Well girls, to be honest no one knows for sure about what will happen to either of you. Aqua, I know you don't want to believe that any of this is true, but you must. It is important all of us work together to keep word from spreading. Otherwise, vampires and hunters everywhere  will come looking for you. Kaname, if you don't mind Yargari will stay in the Moon Dormitory tonight." Father says, the years showing on his features.

"Of course, Kaien. Consider it a favor between old friends." Kaname bows his head in respect for his old friend. The families Cross and Kuran have been allies for as long as anyone can remember, and always will be ... Even if I can't stand Kaname and Yuki.

"What are we going to tell the Day students? I mean they just watched something that, for once logic can't explain." Zero asks, solemnly.  "We don't." Yagari and I say together. "We can't acknowledge any of tonight's events. Even if we did manage a cover up story, who's to say that they will even believe it." Yagari finishes for me. What's that smell? It's so good!

"Flame? No." Ruka smells it too. I'm ... Hungry. "Flame." I go to the window watching below. "Tablets, now."
"Flame, drink this. It'll help." A worried Aido demands. It's ... gone? Vanished without a trace, with it the new found hunger. "Tch, she's just doing this for attention. Just look at her, she's always looking for a new way to get attention." Yuki scoffs. I wish that she wouldn't be like this. Believe it or not when Kaname first brought her to Father, I loved her. She was like my own living doll. We were sisters, before I overheard the truth that night. I've pushed her away, because I thought she stole Kaname from me. When the truth was, he was never mine and I didn't want anything to do with him after that.

The worst part is that by time I figured the truth out, Yuki and I, we hated each other. "Yuki, stop. Please, you don't understand!"

"No I don't, Flame! I don't know because you don't tell anyone anything!"
"That's not true, Yuki! You're acting like a child right now!"
"Flame, Yuki, please stop fighting!?" Dad tries to intervene.

Knocking at the door dispenses the tension. "Come in." Father calls, gladly being distracted from Yuki and my arguing. As the newcomer opens the door, I go back to looking out the window next to Yagari. "I'm sorry to interrupt, but the council is chaotic after tonight's ... Events." I feel the daggers from the glare I'm receiving from ... Him. "What do you want, Phoenix." I whip around, my hair snapping around my figure.

"Miss me, Flame?" The dark haired man smirks at me. "Like I said before, what do you want, Phoenix?"

"Tsk, your no fun anymore." His eye's show his annoyance with me. "Phoenix! What does the council want? Do NOT start with your games." Everyone in the room is on guard because this guy, is low. He wouldn't blink and he would be after your head. The council only keeps him around because he can get the council's dirty work done without anyone else knowing they were really behind it.

"The council wants you."
"Oh, well let's see when I'm open."
"Aqua, too."
"Over my dead body."
"Normally I would arrange that for you, but under no circumstance am I to bring back a corpse."
"Awe, but I thought you wanted to play."
"I have orders, and I will follow through with them."
"Then, you'll have to bring in my dead body."
"Whatever Flame, but I will be back. And, I won't be coming alone." With that said he leaves just as quickly as he came.

"What do you think he wants now?" Lightning asks with worry in her eyes.

"Why must he be so hot?!" Jayy groans, flopping onto the couch next to Lightning and Aqua. "Because he's evil." I scoff/joke.

"It's late. We can finish this tomorrow, but for now we should all get some sleep. Come on." I say half asleep, watching the rays from the sun starting to peek out from beyond the horizon. "That's a good idea. Kaname, Yargari you know what to do." My father walks us out of the building. "Classes will be canceled tomorrow."

Aqua and I hug our father before walking off with our group to the Moon Dormitory.

Ruka, Aqua, Lightning, and I change into something to sleep in before going back down stairs where the boys are waiting for us. The other Night Class boys took the liberty of setting up the down stairs area for tonight ... Well, today. Replacing the couches and chairs for ten beds.

"So, what now?" I ask Aqua. "What do you mean?"

"Flame," Kaname warns me before I can answer my sister's question. I nod, knowing well what he meant. With that I walk up to my room, locking the door behind me.

I walk over to my mirror, my steps slow and scared. Scared of what's to come, the possibility of losing my sister. My friends, family, everyone. Looking at my reflection, the red hair and blue eyes, sun kissed tan skin, the newly added fangs in my smile. I don't look or feel like myself. I was taught that as a hunter, to kill the vampires, they're my enemy. Being my dad's daughter I was also taught that it is possible to live in peace with the vampires. I was a hunter from the family Cross.

Now, I don't know who or what I am ...

... I don't want to know what I am.

I just pray that no one I love gets hurt because of me.

Knocking on the door startles me, "Flame, are you okay." It's Yagari. Putting a reassuring smile I open the door. "Yeah, I just wanted to, uh, check on some things is all." Looking up at him, I can tell he doesn't believe it for a minute. "Your sure about that?" He closes the door behind him. "Of course ..." I trail off. "Why don't I believe you?"

"You tell me." He smirks.
"Come on, tell me." He sits down next to me.
"I can't."
"Why not?"
"I ... I just ... I can't, okay?!" I get up to walk back down the stairs.
"Flame, wait." I pause, my hand on the doorknob, looking back at him.

"What." My voice betrays me, letting on to how scared I am on the inside. Unable to look at him, I turn back to the door. On the verge of tears, I lay my head against the door. The next thing I know, arms are being wrapped around me. I turn around, finding myself unable to hold the tears back any longer.

They come and they come, not wanting to stop. Why wouldn't they? I never met our mother until tonight, and she wanted to kill me ... And, my sister. Mother's ... They're not supposed to kill their children ... But, she wants to.

The only question now is:

What will happen next?
