Once we got to my house, Karl lead me inside, making sure to keep me steady the entire way until I was laying on my own couch. "Do you need anything?" He asked me, and I shook my head. I still felt a little queasy as I closed my eyes. I felt a gentle hand on my shoulder, before I fell asleep.

When I woke up, I saw sunlight pouring onto the wooden floor and coffee table. I realized it must have been afternoon, as I slowly straightened myself into an upright position. My stomach didn't hurt as much as before, I could bearly even tell it was hurting now. I looked around a bit to see where Karl was, and saw he was laying on the adjacent couch in the room. He looked up when I moved. "Morning, sleepy-head." He greeted me with a small smile, and I rolled my eyes. "How long was I out?" I asked. Karl glanced to his phone, then back up at me. "About six hours. It's nearly 3:00PM now."

My jaw actually dropped a little at this. I must have been more tired than I'd thought. I felt an insatiable hunger quickly rising as I glanced at Karl. "You hungry?" I asked him, trying to keep the slightly nervous shake from my voice. He shrugged, then nodded. "I don't suppose you'd by any chance like to get food?" I inquired casually. Karl gave me a small smile before nodding again. "Sure, I'd like that. But I'm paying." I glanced to him before giving a nod of thanks.

We headed out into the quickly cooling afternoon, and walked the three blocks to the local McDonald's near my house. We ate, and then got smoothies at the 7-11 that was right next door. Then we began the walk back, at a more casual pace than the walk up. I sipped my smoothie slowly, feeling shivers go up and down my body. In my infinite wisdom, I hadn't thought of wearing a hoodie, and as the late August sun dipped below the horizon, I was starting to feel the consequences. Karl glanced to me. "You cold?" He asked, and I nodded briefly.

He stopped, placing his smoothie on a nearby thick stone fence. In one, swift motion, he removed his hoodie, and handed it to me. "Are you sure?" I asked hesitantly. He smiled and nodded. "You need it more than me." I put my smoothie down as well, quickly pulling the light blue hoodie over my frail body. My own hoodies were big on me, but this was even bigger. The sleeves fell over my hands without trying, and the thing managed to cover even below my waist. It was warm from Karl wearing it, and it was thick enough to stay that way. We picked up our drinks and kept walking, all the while I felt a sort of giddy joy at wearing Karl's hoodie.

We reached my house, just as I saw my car pulling into the drive way. My mom was home. She got out as we walked up the drive way. "'Ello." She greeted as she faced us. We stopped as I slightly waved. Normally I'd greet my mom with a hug, but having Karl there made it different. "Hey, Mom." I said as she turned to look at Karl. "Who's this?" I cringed slightly. "This is Karl," I said slowly. "He's one of the MrBeast crew." My mom's eyes seemed to shine as J said this. "Oh!" She exclaimed. "So he's the one you're always talking about." I instantly regretted telling my mom who Karl was as he turned to look at me. "You are?" He asked.

"What my mom is trying to say," I replied, giving my mom a look. "Is that you're one of many. Since I talk about the whole crew." This wasn't entirely a lie. I did speak of the crew a lot, but I mentioned Karl on greatly more occasions. Karl didn't look convinced, but he thankfully didn't push the subject as my mom smirked. "There's some things we need to discuss," she said as her expression turned darker. I felt my heart drop a little as I wondered what on Earth she could mean. "It was nice meeting you, Karl. You can call me Y/M/N*." Karl nodded slowly, as he headed over to his car. I waved as he smiled kindly at me. "See you tomorrow, Y/N." He said, and I nodded. Once he'd gotten in his car, I watched him drive away until his car rounded a slight bend in the road, and was out of sight. Then I turned to my mom.

"So what's up?" We both headed inside as my mom seemed to hesitate. "You know how now that you're 18, we stopped getting childcare benefits," she began, as she placed a bag of groceries on the counter. I nodded slowly. "And you know that, even with your job with MrBeast and all, we still don't get a lot of income?" I nodded again. I had a slight, nagging feeling of where this was going, and I didn't like it. "Now that your father has left," my mom's voice quivered a bit as she continued. "we've got even less of an income. I've already applied for unemployment benefits, but it isn't much." I nodded for the third time. I still didn't quite know where this was going, although it was making more sense.

"Y/N, what I'm basically trying to say is: we don't have a lot of money, and since I can't take all of the money you earn from MrBeast, it's very difficult. But, if it were just one person to think of, it may become just a little easier." I felt my heart sink as she said this. This is what I'd been expecting. "Are you telling me to move out?" I asked quietly. My mom's expression was one of sympathy and regret as she placed a hand on my shoulder. "You're a legal adult now, and you're at a good place in your life. You've got a decent job doing something you enjoy, and you've got a good circle of friends." I sighed as I leaned back against the counter. "Where will I go?" I asked softly. "We'll figure that out soon," my mom said. "but right now, let's have some dinner."

It was about two and a half hours later when I was laying in bed on my phone. I'd texted Karl about the whole situation, and he had just responded. You have to move out? Do you know where to? I typed back, No clue. I don't even know what type of house I can really get into. There was a bit of a pause, before Karl replied. Wait…I have one idea. I reread that text twice, because I was confused and curious to what this idea was. You could come stay here? Karl texted. Since Maitland already moved in with Bailey, I'm sure the others wouldn't mind if you crashed with us for a while, at least until you found a better place. You could sleep in my room, too, if you wanted. I actually felt my heart flutter as I read this.

Are you sure? I replied quickly. I don't want to be a bother. Karl was quick to respond. I don't mind, really. You won't be a bother, Y/N. I promise. I was trembling slightly as I texted back, Okay. I'll ask my mom about it tomorrow. He came back with Okay. I'll also mention it to the others. I slowly put my phone down, wondering what it might be like to live with Karl and his friends. I imagined it would be a bit awkward at first, but I also thought it would be fun.

The next morning when I awoke, I saw there was a new message on my phone. It was from Karl. Bailey, Ethan, and Maitland said that it would be totally okay for you to come stay with us for a while. I actually felt my stomach kind of flip as I read this. Fr? I replied, and he quickly responded, Yea! I got up and out of my room, going to tell my mother about what Karl said. She was more than delighted, and said it was great that I had such good friends. I already knew that, of course.
