I'm not going to finish Rise of Darkness.
I feel like the story isn't living up to my original ideas for it and I lost the motivation to continue. I didn't do enough planning and the writing was half-assed. I started writing this in order to improve my writing skills but I didn't care enough about the story to want to write it. I had some great ideas but my skills weren't great enough to pull them off, I stopped caring about the third chapter, and my overambition became my downfall.
What I'm going to do instead is start work on something new.
(Probably another avatar fan-fic, maybe something else, I haven't decided yet.)
I will eventually remake Rise of Darkness once I feel confident I can make something worthy of the original ideas I had for this.
