Breaking out of each other's embrace Miranda bends down to pick up her belongings

"SOOO Mr. Benjamin Warren since you have finally gotten a yes out of me what do you suppose is next huh"? Miranda said while they make their way to her car with a playful smile on her face   she looks over at him and stops as they have arrived to her car. Well thank you for walking to my car but you still have yet to answer my question Dr. Warren. Miranda said facing towards him.

"Well I guess you are going to have to  find that out when I ask you out on a date  Miranda Bailey" Ben said giving her a kiss on her cheek with a grin on his face as he walks to his car. "Goodnight Dr. Bailey see you tomorrow" Ben said waving his hand behind him.

Miranda scoffed and rolled her eyes as she couldn't help but smile at the fact that this man is going to keep her on her toes she thought as she got into her car and headed home. On arriving home Miranda grabs her things and heads inside placing  everything on the floor in front of the door as she makes her way to the sofa. As she was just about to  plop down on the couch her phone rings from inside her purse she whimpers as she rushes over to answer it. 

"Hello Dr. Bailey are you there" High pitched and worried voice came from the phone. "I'm sorry to bother you on your day off but we have a huge trauma coming in and we could use all hands on deck."

"Yes I am here and no worry I'm on my way now." Miranda said quickly grabbing her things and heading out the door to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital's ER.  This day can't get anymore hectic Miranda thought but soon she would realize that's far from the truth.

I know your probably thinking why would they call and pediatric fellow to come in help with the trauma  if they are no children involved but before my Pediatric fellowship I was a senior resident  in general surgery going to be a Attending until I took the interest into PEDS and decided to pursue it which lead to me and Tucker ending he didn't understand why I would want to start a fellowship that would keep me busier than I already was he hardly got to see me as it is now I wanted to start something that will make me even more busy. we fought all night about what I wanted to do in my career and the next day I decided it was best that we called it quits.

"Dr. Bailey you are needed in trauma room 1" ER nurse says snapping Miranda out of her thoughts. Miranda nods and heads over to trauma 1 "what do we got" even though I wasn't an attending people gave me respect of one I knew I didn't come to play and fool around I came to be a surgeon and get the job done.

"6 foot 5 26 year old male came in for a GSW to his abdomen he was shot  during the robbery when he refused  hand over his watch." Okay hello sir can you hear me I'm Dr. Bailey and I will be taking care of you today. Miranda said as she approached the gentlemen. 

"Mandy"

TUCKER!! 

What Hell Happened Miranda said as she rushed to the bed.

Miranda called his name in a panic as Tucker's pressure began to drop and she rushed him to an elevator so she could get him into surgery to remove the bullet and and try to repair the damaged tissue where the bullet hit. 

IN THE OR

his pressures dropping  60 over 100 

where is all this blood coming from Miranda said searching his abdomen "Suction get control of that bleeding Tucker you better not die on me do you here me I am having your baby what will I tell your child if you die. 

*couple hours later 

"Mandy? "

Tucker thank god you are awake I thought we lost you back there. Miranda said while hitting him. "Ouch" Mandy what the hell? don't what the hell me Tucker Jones you almost died what would I have told your child that the reason he isn't here today was because he was so stupid that he didn't give up his watch to save his life. 

Of course I didn't give up my watch it was a gift from you Miranda leans down to Tucker and kisses him on the lips Next time give them your watch okay. Miranda said Hugging him I will go back to general surgery and become an Attending so we try this again she said while kissing his forehead. 

Almost losing him made me realize how important he was to me I may not be in love with him but I love him plus I'm having his baby what am I post to do it wouldn't be fair to the baby they deserve to grow up with both parents plus I can always fall back in love with him right? 

"Miranda just person I wanted to see how was your patient did they make it" Ben said smiling and rubbing her arms. Yes but ben we need to talk Miranda said with a depressed look on her face because she knew what she was going to have to do and it killed her because she wanted nothing more than to be with him but knew she had to do the right thing and put all her strong feelings for him aside.  "Everything okay Miranda?" Ben said noticing that she looked upset Miranda grabbed his arm and pulled him in to the on call room so they could speak freely. 

Ben my patient today was Tucker he was shot during a robbery and we almost lost him which scared me half to death I was carrying his child what was I gonna tell the baby. when he made it I realized that he was still very important and that I owned him and the baby to try again because it is the right thing to do. So I am going to go back to General Surgery so I can help him through his recovery and work on us. Even with all my strong feelings for you I can't be selfish its not just about me Miranda said placing her hand on his face as she looked into his eyes and said I'm sorry. 

She began to leave when Ben grabs her arm and pulls her into a deep passionate kiss goodbye because even though it pains him to loose her he Knew she was making this decision for the baby and out of guilt  for moving on and he respected it. Miranda pulled away as a tear ran down her face she went out the door. 

4 Months Later...

Miranda looked like she was about to pop she was 8 months she had one  month to go and boy was she ready too. Her and Tucker have been staying together at his apartment since the hospital. She first stayed to help him with all his badges and dressing but once he was completely healed Tucker insisted that she continued to stay there so they could work on their relationship. Miranda hesitated at first but soon gave in plus his apartment was way closer to the hospital than her house was.  

"Mandy lets get Married" Tucker said making Miranda choke on her water.

"What"! Miranda cleared her throat Tucker we just got back together 4 months ago we are no where near being ready to get married why would you want to get married right now. 

Mandy we are having a baby and we were ready 7 months ago the only thing that stopped us from getting married before was you wanting to pursue the field of PEDS, but you realized that I was right and  became a attending  in general surgery and  that you also needed me and not some chump you had just met , but its okay because I forgave you and we are better for it.  So lets get married before the baby get here. 

Tucker I'm Due next month Miranda said slightly annoyed at what he just said. 

I Know so that's why we are getting married at the end of this month don't worry though I have already called our moms and they have already started planning we will be married in no time. Tucker said kissing Miranda on the head as he was leaving the room leaving  Miranda in a shocked state.
