Sup guys! Sorry I haven't updated, really hard at school. Struggle is REAL! I will try to write and continue whenever I can. SO, enjoy.
Tyra's P.o.V
Sunday through Tuesday was routine. Ya know . . . school, practice, home repeat. Deon's been working extra hard trying to recover our huge "money robbery". Yeah, I know I was there when we "got robbed". I still don't wanna tell him, cuz then it'll just put us all in danger. Anyways, I have been texting Jaylen like he suggested. It's just weird you know, me actually going on a date. It'll be my very first real date. Ugh, I'm nervous, lets just not tell him that . . .
Wednesday
After school, I got a game! Yay! lets kick some a-.
It's first quarter with a 3:12 left and Coach Brown hasn't put me in yet since the starting lineup. I know, I know I shouldn't be worried but I am. My team, the Lady Cougars, are down and have 21pts and the Lady Wolves are up with 25pts.
"C'mon Tyra!" Coach calls me off the bench. "Get in there and run this play and take the shot," he says pointing in the playbook. "Hardcore man-to-man defense, strategic offense uhhh. . .Just lead! You got this!" Ewww, his breath smells like butt and cornchips. Brush yo teeth MAN! Anyways, focus Tyra, you got this.
I review the play wit the girls and we get back in order. I get the ball from the inbound since the Point Guard is sitting out, defense is tight so I pass it to Small Forward Aisha, she dribbles and crosses her player up, passes it to me, I call a screen, screen's in position, kick it out to Power Forward Shaundra, she passes it back quick, I stop and shoot . . . and the crowd literally goes wild as I make that 3point beyond the arc! I hear an extra loud person hollering my name, wonder who that is. The first quarter kinda goes through a similar pattern wit me making all the shots, playing my 7mins total in the game. And no I'm not a ball hogger, I'm just that good.
The second quarter is awesome, we get in front wit 10 extra points. Lady Cougars right now have 45points altogether. I'm crossing people up, breaking ankles and s-, hopstepping layups, buckets!, faders, buckets!, and you know I'm faking . . .shoot it, buckets! Yeah . . .
Half-time
"Good job girls!" Coach Brown says in the hallway on our way to the locker rooms. "Tyra, you is lighting it up!" he congratulates. All the girls cheer me on, but some of 'em keep givin' me looks. We head into the girls locker room.
"Yeah, Tyra. We definitely gonna win now," a sophomore girl, who is a good Point Guard and aspires to be like me, says.
"Oh, thanks Kaia," I say all proud drinking my water wit my team towel resting over my neck.
"Kaia, the only reason we winning is because Tyra's ball-hogging selfish a- is making all the shots." This jealous b- again.
"You know what, hol' up Chanelle hol' up." I stand up walking towards her but far enough so I ain't gotta see her crusty and ratchet face. "Who says I'm hoggin?"
"Everybody. Yeah, we winning and it's great but we ain't got no stats" she motions to all the girls. "You making nearly all the shots and it just ain't fair." She crosses her arms across her chest shifting her wait on one leg.
"Girrrl . . . you got stats. We are all contributing to the score and how we play. Coach is just telling me to shoot. So don't get mad at me, get mad at Coach."
"No." This b-.
"No. You gon' get mad at me for something Coach got control of?"
