'Children attacked by ghouls. Parents desperate for help.'
'Meat stolen from shops. Ghouls believed to be behind this.'
Holly put down the newspaper.
"There's nothing in the papers other than ghoul cases."
" Well, what can I do?" asked Hazel.
"Everything's a joke to you, is it not?!" Asked Holly, glaring at her. "Can you ever be serious?"
"Okay then." She cleared her throat. "It is increasing, isn't it?"
Hazel was spreading peanut butter on her toast, with a knife.
"They even sell books about ghouls in the shops now" said Hazel "I even bought one"
"Why would you buy it?" asked Holly confused "That is just a waste of money"
"Mum allowed it!"
As the youngest, Hazel had a lot more privileges than the older three. Their mum would buy her anything with just a 'please'.
Holly sighed. "Will you give me a piece of your toast?"
"Here you go"
"Thanks"
"I bet Heather doesn't even know about the ghoul cases"
Holly snickered.
"I CANHEAR YOU!" Heather shouted from upstairs.
She was in front of her wall sized mirror in her room and was trying on her new dresses. The mirror covered almost half of the pink room. All her supplies were pink. Even her phone charger was pink. Maybe that was the reason Hazel hated pink so much.
Ding dong.
The sound of the doorbell rang through the house.
"Who would be ringing the doorbell at this hour? it's almost 1:00 am"
"Mum said she would only be home tomorrow afternoon."
"And Henry and Jack would come around tomorrow morning."
The three sisters crept up the door and pulled it open. There stood Henry and Jack.
"Henry! Jack! What are you doing here?" asked Holly.
"Long story! Too tired! Gotta sleep!" finished Henry and started climbing up the stairs.
"Holly! Why is my door locked?" yelled Henry.
"Oh! Mum locked it so nothing gets inside through the broken window! You seriously got to get it fixed! You know there are many animals here in Australia. It's not like how it was in Britain!"
"Okay then!" said Henry "But, where is the key?"
"Oh! I kept it in Heather's room" said Hazel, then she continued turning her head towards Jack, "Jack, you can sleep on the couch."
So, Henry and Hazel followed Heather to her room to get the key. Hazel went straight to Heather's cupboard and started searching for the key. While Heather, adjusted the edge of her skirt by looking in her HUGE mirror.
"Okay! Got it!" said Hazel and turned around. "Um...Heather, Is everything okay?!"
"No!" said Heather clasping her mouth with her hand. She continued to point at Henry. "Where is your reflection?!"
Both Henry and Hazel turned to look at the mirror to see the reflection of only Heather and Hazel standing in the room.
Heather screamed.
Holly climbed the stairs and rushed to Heather's room. She entered the room to see a frightened Heather hiding behind a cupboard, Henry still staring at the mirror and Hazel thinking hard.
"What happened?" asked Holly worried.
"H-he d-doesn't h-have a r-reflection." Heather stuttered.
Holly's eyes widened and she had a look of concern in her face.
"I think I have a vague idea." said Hazel looking stern, for the first time in her life.
