"Stop!" cried Henry, emerging from behind a tree, Jack on his heels.
"Ah...look who it is! Our little vampire." Said Craig turning his attention onto Henry and retreating his fangs, looking more human than before.
"How dare you do that to our father?!" said Henry boiling with anger.
"Oh! Look who's been eavesdropping!" said Craig "To be honest, I'm pretty proud of myself for pulling that off!"
"But how could you betray him?!" said Henry "He was your best friend!"
"You think I betrayed him?!" said Craig "Well, then let's see if you would betray your family."
He drew out the dagger from his pocket and swung it at Heather. Fortunately, Heather dodged it, but Holly wasn't so lucky. It slashed her upper arm and made a cut. Blood started oozing down her arm to the ground. Holly wrapped her palm around the wound tightly.
As soon as Henry saw the blood, his eyes began to flicker between red and blue. His conscience trying to maintain blue but red trying to overpower it.
Craig laughed heartlessly.
"Try to resist it as much as you want." said Craig "But in the end, I always win."
Heather and Hazel began moving near Henry with caution. Holly saw Henry struggling, his hands clasped on both sides of his head and Jack trying to knock some sense into him. Holly took a step towards him, but Hazel motioned her to stop. Henry's eyes looked helplessly at Holly, to whom he felt the closest to, but his eyes wandered off at the blood spilling out through the gaps between her fingers, that were wrapped around her injured arm.
Craig's words turned out to be true as Henry's eyes turned red, fangs sprouting from his teeth, putting all his efforts in vain. Henry charged towards Holly. Holly turned to run, but was stopped by a tug on her wrist.
"You aren't going anywhere, miss." said Craig, gripping her wrist
"Jack ran in front of Henry, trying to convince him not to attack. But as his words didn't affect Henry, he stood in the way that led to Holly and pushed Henry backwards, to divert his attention. Henry turned his gaze onto Jack, and mad at distracting him, punched him in the stomach, resulting in Jack falling to the ground.
On the other side, Hazel came running towards Craig, who was gripping Holly's wrist, and kicked him on his knees, causing him to lose balance and loosening his grip on Holly. As soon as Holly got free, she ran as far away from Henry as possible.
Craig glared at Hazel and with a motion of his finger, uncoiled the rope hanging from his belt. It felt like the rope had come to life, slithering like a snake, with Craig controlling it with his finger. The rope jumped at Holly, tying her hands on the sides of her body, making her unable to move. Heather ran towards her and started untangling the rope.
Meanwhile, Jack managed to trip Henry, who fell stumbling to the ground. Both of them wrestled each other until Henry pinned Jack to the ground, ready to strike him. Jack felt the gravel and stones pierce him through his shirt. Henry looked at him wildly, his fangs resting on his lower lip.
"Henry! This is not you!" said Jack, having no other option to defend himself.
"HEY!" said a voice behind them.
Henry turned at the voice and Jack saw Hazel standing there. With Henry distracted, he pushed Henry to the ground and climbed on top of him.
"Henry! Look at me! Your sisters are in danger! The ghoul is using you! You have to overpower it!" said Jack.
