Your cats name is Muffin, that's all you need to know 😂
(Your POV)
The thought of chucking your phone across the room passed your mind as your alarm rang once more. A groan escaped you as you sat up in bed. You shut off your phones annoying ringing and sluggishly got up.
A good stretch and some coffee got your body to wake up for the day. You let your cat outside, since he was a indoor and outdoor pet, before you gazed out the window. It was six A.M. on a chilly fall day so the sun hadn't risen yet. The darkness made you want to return to bed but you had a long day ahead of you.
Sighing, you placed your mug on the counter and went to go get dressed. You listened to the chirping of crickets outside your bedroom window but then there was the sound of a cat meowing. The meowing quickly turned to hissing and you immediately worried for your feline friend. Was there a raccoon or something that he was getting into a fight with? Muffin sounded really irritated.
Rushing through the house brought you to your front door, you flicked on the outside porch light and flew open the door. You definitely did not expect to see a guy with a bloody scratched nose out on your front porch. You furrowed your eyebrows when you saw where he was gently putting your cat down on the ground.
"Um can I help you?" you questioned
You scooped up your fur baby and held him close to your chest. In your arms Muffin was quite shook up as he kept his eyes on the boy.
"Sorry, I was going for my morning run when I saw your cat in the road and a car was coming" the boy explained
You turned to look down at your pet who meowed like he was still anxious from the incident.
"Oh...thank you. Usually there's no cars out this early so I let him roam free in the yard before I leave for the day"
"Yeah that's why I run this early, it's usually vacant on the streets at this time" the boy related
You smiled while looking at him, you tried your best not to stare but blood was running down from the scratch on his nose.
"Sorry, Muffin isn't the friendliest with strangers...it looks like he gave you a taste of that" you apologized
"Aw that's alright" the boy disregarded
While he was talking though he rolled up his black long sleeved shirt and momentarily scratched his arm which looked red.
"Are you allergic to cats?" you blurted out
"Some, why?" he questioned
You narrowed your eyes and pointed to his arm where he'd just been itching. He seemed to only then take notice of his own actions.
"Oh I wasn't even paying attention, I was looking at your beautiful eyes and..." he stated as a matter of fact but then stopped
Your cheeks felt hot as he exchanged eye contact with you.
"Never mind..." he said with a smirk
He started examining his arm.
You let out a light laugh.
"You're odd...I like you. I'll go get you some Benadryl before your allergies get worse" you told him
He laughed and you went inside. You put your furry friend down on the floor and almost chastised him for scratching this cute guy before remembering you'd left the front door open and the boy could hear.
Opening your cupboards, you grabbed Benadryl and bandaids. You rinsed a rag and filled a cup of water before going back out into the cold early morning.
"Here" you spoke, holding out the medicine and cup of water
"Thank you, I never know if I'm going to break out or feel nothing at all since it's only certain cats for whatever reason" he replied, taking the items
"Are you allergic to dogs too?" you inquired
"No...not yet at least" he chuckled
A smile crossed your face.
"You're still bleeding it looks like, let me-" you didn't finish your sentence as you began dabbing the rag against the scratch on his nose
He held still for you as you wiped the cut clean.
"I got a bandaid too if you'd like" you said
"I probably won't leave it on for long but sure go ahead" he laughed
You unwrapped the bandage and giggled while applying it.
"What?" he asked with a flirty smile
"My cat got you good that's all" you laughed
He laughed with you and you pulled away from him once you were done.
"That stuff takes like half a hour to kick in so hopefully you don't tear through your skin before then" you commented about the medicine
"I have good self control don't worry" he assured
Uh huh...that's why five minutes ago he was scratching his arm without even knowing it.
You tried not to roll your eyes. The guy turned his head to look behind him when there was the soft patter of rain outside of your porch."Seems like fate has spoken that I shouldn't leave just yet" he flirted
You grinned and blushed slightly.
"You know, I don't really believe in fate" you teased, playing hard to get
He smirked and you two laughed together as the rain picked up.
"But if I did..." you continued
You leaned in and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.
"Then that would be one last thank you for being a hero and saving Muffin. He might not be grateful but I am" you joked
He grinned.
"I got to leave, but sometimes I run a mile or two around town so if you ever want to stop by and go for a jog together" you invited
"Deal" he agreed
He seemed more than happy at the idea of seeing you again. You bit your lip before going inside. You watched him leave your porch and continue his run, man was he cute.... You closed the door and your heart fluttered within you.
Muffin looked up at you and let out a meow or two. You smiled and lifted your cat up to look him in the eye.
"Never run into the street again, you hear me?" you told him
...
"But thanks for introducing me to a cute boy..."
