It was the morning after you won the trial.
Well, it was around brunch time actually.
You don't know why, but you had a hard time sleeping last night. It's like an intense feeling of dread suddenly crept on the back of your mind, as if you felt that people may be plotting to kill you.
But that can't be, right?
(Y/n): "*YAAAAAWN!* Morning."
You entered the living room with a yawn, greeting your teammates as you did so.
Aqua: "Gooooood Morning!"
Aqua greeted you, she seemed to be playing chess with Cirno. The Arch Priestess had a confident look on her face as she moved a piece, taking out one of Cirno's.
Cirno: "Mornin' master!"
The snow fairy greeted you with a wave, she then turned her attention back to the game with a bright smile on her face.
Cirno: "Sorry Aqua-chan, but you fell right into my trap!"
As she pushed one of her pieces to eat one of Aqua's, putting her king in check in the process. The blue-haired Arch Priestess in turn looked at the board in disbelief.
Kazuma: "Mornin', there's some leftover breakfast in the kitchen if you want some."
Your leader said as she watched the two play from the couch, you nodded at her words and went to the kitchen to fix yourself up some late breakfast.
(Y/n): "Hey... where's Darkness and Megumin?"
You leaned your head out the door and asked upon noticing the two's absence.
Kazuma: "Well, Megumin's out for a walk. And as for Darkness, her father sent her a letter earlier."
(Y/n): "Her dad, huh? Isn't he supposed to be like the governor of this place?"
The brunette nodded and elaborated further.
Kazuma: "Mhm, and apparently he's coming home from the capital with some news. Darkness had to go back to their home and meet him, so she left earlier saying she'd be gone for at least a couple of days."
(Y/n): "Oh, I see."
You nodded as you went back to the kitchen.
A bit later, the voice of the petite Arch Wizard announced as she entered the living room.
Megumin: "I'm home"
Kazuma: "Welcome back."
Your leader lazily greeted her from the couch.
???: "Nyan."
All of a sudden, a cat made itself known. The unexpected noise in the room quickly caught the attention of those in the living room, turning their heads they saw Megumin standing by the doorway.
With what seemed to be a small black cat in her hands.
Kazuma: "Um, what'cha got there Megumin?"
Your leader asked the petite Arch Wizard, taking a close look at the bundle of fur in her hands.
Megumin: "Kazuma, I humbly request that you allow me to take in this cat as my familiar!"
