"Marlee! Marlee, look at this delicious cake!" Dakota screeches with joy. I quickly look at her. She looks gorgeous with her long, brown hair with natural, black tinted highlights. The dress she choose for my 7th Birthday was pink with a big white band across her tiny waist. I rush towards her. When I lay my eyes on the cake, I can't help but smile with excitement. "I feel butterflies flying in my tummy," I say. Dakota backs away from me and giggles,"If you threw up, would you throw up butterflies? Or last night's dinner?"
"Ewww!" I say while chuckling . They were the type of butterflies that you get when you become so excited that nothing in this world could ruin it.
"Girls, what are you up to?" My mom says as she walks in the room with a smile.
"Nothing," we quickly respond back and then giggle.
"Marlee, you better not be peeking at your presents. They are supposed to be surprises."
"I'm just glad that I won't have to share my birthday with Paisley. I am glad that she will be my sister, but I don't want to share my birthday." I say.
Mother looks at me with a little disappointment, but nods a little. "Girls, try to not get your dresses dirty today."
My dress was a light green with a bright pink bow in the back. My hair was in bouncy, blonde curls with a pink bow in my hair. I didn't look as good as Dakota, but I just accepted that. Nothing could ruin this perfect day.
"Who's up for cake?" My dad voice calls out.
"Daddy!!!!!" We screech.
We quickly run up to him and he swoops us in his arms. He gives me a kiss on my cheek. His mustache leaves a tickle on my cheek and I giggle. He takes me by my tiny, soft arms and spins me around in a circle.
He sets me down and smiles,"Do you want to open presents or eat cake first?"
"Can I open a present, eat cake, and then open the rest?" I eagerly ask.
"You're the birthday girl. Your wish is my command."
I quickly unwrap the biggest present I saw, eager to know what was inside.
"A DOLLHOUSE!?" I screech with glee,"It is just what I wanted! Oh thank you!"
I run up to Mom and Dad and give each of them a kiss.
The dollhouse was perfect. Pink on the inside with blue and purple rooms. It was perfect. Everything was perfect. But nothing lasts forever.
