The end of us [DISCONTINUED]

Chapter 2 - Death awaits

I stop moving.

I reread the e-mail.

I look around me to see the same expression on everyones faces.

Anger. Sadness. Pain. Wory. Fear.

I, myself, am terrified.

I am traped in this beautiful, yet cruel world. I have to stick with my friends but, what happens if they die? How will I go on by myself? I feel a warm hand on my shoulder. I turn around.

" We are going to survive, don't worry Sapphire," said Lily.

I look at my friends and see their confident, yet terrified looks. I feel a sudden confidence in me.

" Yeah, we are," I say with a smile spreading across my face.

We walk out of the café and go to a hotel. We order each our own rooms and walked to them while each saying our 'good nights'. I'm in my bed, looking at the ceiling, thinking. What will happen if I die? Will the others cry or will they just move on? The thoughts were in my mind till' I fell asleep.

I wake up the next morning to the sound of chriping birds. I get out of my messy bed and get dressed. When I'm finished, I walk out of my room and close the door. I walk down the hall and knock on Lily's door. She dosen't answer so I just walk in, closing the door behind me. I see Lily sleeping gently in her bed and approach her quietly. I poke her on the head to see if she wakes up. Nothing. I say her name while shaking her slightly.

"Lily. Lily, wake up."

She just turns to her side. I walk up to the door opening it and closing it really loudly. Lily jumped up out of her bed.

"I know kung fu!" shouts Lily.

"Calm down! It's only me!"

"Oh, sorry about that."

"It's fine, I'm used to it."

I always have to wake up Lily one way or another. She's such a heavy sleeper.

"Get dressed, we are leaving soon," I say.

I walk out of the room and close the door. I look to my left and see Violet, Neil, Maxell and Natalie walking towards me with friendly smiles.

"Hey, where's Lily?" asks Neil.

"Well good morning to you too," I say with an irritated tone in my voice "she's getting ready."

"Sorry! I was just so focused on Lily I forgot to say good morning to you guys" Neil says, rubbing his neck sheepishly and looking at the ground.

"You are forgiven," I say.

Lily walks out of her room and looks around to see her little group of friends standing by her door.

"Good morning!" Lily says, with a smile her face.

I turn around and see Lily with her usual smile.

"Good morning!"

How does she stay so happy all the time? Aren't we in a virtual world of death, or is that just me? I get lost in my thoughts and feel a hand on my shoulder. I turn around to see Violet, the supportive friend, looking at me with a worried look on her face.

"Are you okay?" she says, "you look very confused."

"Yeah, I'm fine just lost in my thoughts."

Violet removes her hand from my shoulder and walks past Lily.

"Well don't just stand there, silly! We got beast to beat!"

Violet, the supportive friend who always knows what to say. I smile and jog over to them.

We check out of the hotel and head over to the first level of the game. We stand infront of a tall, monstrous looking, building and walk in.

"Well I guess this is it, death awaits us."
