"Do you think we'll be roommates?" Jinsoul asked nervously.
"Maybe? I don't know but I hope so. Because I can't tolerate another person's habit instead of yours." Haseul joked as she looked out the window.
"I'm actually pretty scared. It's like I'm exposed to the outside world." Jinsoul chuckled nervously as she made a turn.
"Well, I'm scared too. I'd be lying if I say I wasn't. But, it's college. We have to get through it." Haseul answered, earning a nod from Jinsoul.
"Yup, I hope so." Jinsoul sighed as she pulled in the parking lot. Carrying her bags, she hoped for the best. She silently prayed to have Haseul as her roommate, if not she hoped to have a nice friendly roommate.
"So you got your dorm key?" Haseul asked as she hid hers behind her back.
"I did. What's your number?" Jinsoul asked as she tried peaking.
"No, you first." Haseul declined as she tried peaking at Jinsoul's key.
"Together. On the count of three." Jinsoul said, earning a nod from Haseul. "One two three.." Jinsoul counted as both of them showed their keys.
"159...." Jinsoul trailed.
"152..." Haseul trailed back. "Welp, it's not like were so far from each other. Just 7 rooms away." Haseul tried staying positive even though Jinsoul was on the verge of tears.
"I don't wanna be far from you." Jinsoul whined as she pouted at Haseul.
"Stop your whining, I'm not your mother. You're embarrassing me." Haseul chuckled nervously. "It's okay, I bet your roommate is as good as me. We can still go to each other's dorms."
"But.." Jinsoul trailed.
"No buts. Let's settle down first. I'll come to your dorm after I get settled. See ya!" Haseul said as she patted Jinsoul's back, leaving her frowning by herself.
Jinsoul sighed to herself as she took deep breaths. Jinsoul has social anxiety, she can get really nervous whenever she meets someone. It's because she was worried about what people think about her and the main cause of that was the trauma she had ever since she was a kid.
"It's okay Jinsoul. You got this. Just say hi and mind your own business." Jinsoul mumbled to herself as she clenched the hem of her sleeves.
She stopped her tracks as she arrived her room. Taking more deep breaths, Jinsoul knocked on the door, hoping that maybe her roommate wasn't in yet.
"If you're the new roommate, then come in, if you're Yeojin, please step away from the door." A voice yelled, earning a confused look from Jinsoul.
Jinsoul opened the door and entered the room. She was met with a brown haired girl, who was wearing a white hoodie and Adidas tracks. Jinsoul felt a bit weird when she saw her. It felt like she's seen her or maybe knew her before.
"You just gonna stand there or.." The girl chukled nervously as she looked at Jinsoul.
"Oh uh sorry. I-I'm Jung Jinsoul." Jinsoul mumbled giving the girl a nervous smile.
"Ah, I see. I'm Jungeun." The girl said with a smile. "So you're the new roommate right?" Jungeun asked.
"Yup, that's me." Jinsoul chuckled. "I'll start unpacking my stuff now. Hope it doesn't bother you though." Jinsoul informed as she took off her shoes.
"Nah, no worries. Go ahead." Jungeun chuckled as she focused back on her laptop.
As Jinsoul was about to approach her bed, she tripped on a rug and fell to the ground, scrapping her leg. Jungeun jumped and helped her up immediately.
"Dude, are you okay? I shouldn't have put that rug there." Jungeun asked as she removed the rug.
"I'm fine." Jinsoul sighed. "I'm so sorry." Jinsoul said as she shook her head. "I should've watch where I was going." Jinsoul chuckled nervously as she stood up.
"Chill, it was not your-" Jungeun paused when she realised that there was something on Jinsoul's forehead.
"What?" Jinsoul asked, looking bit confused.
"You-you have a scar on your forehead. It's the same as mine." Jungeun mumbled as she pointed her forehead scar. "How'd you get it?" Jungeun asked as she looked at it deeper, making Jinsoul a bit uncomfortable.
"Uh, I don't remember. Maybe I hit my head when I was a kid?" Jinsoul chuckled nervously.
"That's odd. I jumped off a table and landed on my head." Jungeun chuckled as she touched her scar on her forehead.
"What a coincidence. We have the same scar." Jinsoul chuckled as she continued unpacking.
"Yeah, I guess so." Junguen chuckled as she jumped back into her bed.
It was quite odd for them to have the same scar. It may be a coincidence but don't you think that there's just something odd about it? That's enough for Jungeun's overthinking session.
Jungeun would glance at Jinsoul from time to time. Not gonna lie, Jungeun had the same feeling as Jinsoul too. She felt like she's known this girl for ages even though they've just met.
Junguen was currently living in the ups and downs of life. She doesn't consider herself lucky at all. Junguen had a terrible past which she never will forget. Jungeun was always alone. She was alone since birth. Losing her own mother while giving birth was something Jungeun never expected. She felt guilty her whole life.
'If only eomma aborted me.' were the only words that ran around Jungeun's head ever since she was old enough to understand the mess she had caused. How her father despises her for her birth and for being the cause of her mother's death. Jungeun even thought of taking her own life, but that wouldn't be fair for her deceased mother.
Instead, Jungeun became a great actor and pretended that everything was okay. She pretended until she decided to persue in theater arts which was suitable for her acting. Maybe no one would notice my problems if i were really good in acting. Jungeun's mind spoke.
"Junguen?" Jinsoul called out, waving a hand in front of Junguen's face. "You okay?" Jinsoul asked as she chuckled nervously at Junguen.
"Y-yes. Sorry I zoned out. What's wrong?" Jungeun asked as she sat up straight.
"I just wanted to tell you that I'm going out for awhile. Want me to pick up anything for you?" Jinsoul asked as she picked up her bag.
"Oh," Jungeun nodded. "No thanks. I'm good!" Jungeun replied as she gave Jinsoul a small smile.
"Okie dokie. See you later." Jinsoul smiled as she made her way out.
Yup, Junguen definitely felt something familiar whenever she sees Jinsoul. She can't explain it because it's something that she's never felt before.
