Lindsey clung to my leg and i tried to pull her off.
"Linds, it's okay. everyone will love you."
she pouted, "but mommy and daddy don't seem to love me."
"but i love you and that's all that matters, but you have to go. at least try it sweetie. I'm sure that kindergarden will be awesome after you get used to it!" i say enthusiastically.
she hugged me tightly and said goodbye before running over to her class.
i begin to walk to school, I'll probably be late by now, but it's fine knowing it was only to make sure Lindsey was okay.
the bell rings almost immediately when i step inside.
students flow out and i bump into someone.
"oh I'm so sorry! my names Michael. are you new?" he asks.
his bright blue hair is the first thing i notice about him.
(yes I'm bringing the blue hair back)
i like it, he's different.
"yeah, my names Luke." i say, shaking his hand.
"can i see your schedule?" he asks.
i nod and dig around in the front pocket of my backpack.
i hand it to him and he shakes his head.
"we don't have the same first period but I'll walk you anyways."
i smile knowing i made a friend already and follow Michael to my class.
***at the end of the day***
"how was your day?" Michael asks, with a smile glued on his face, damn this kid never stops smiling.
"good, i wasn't late to any of my classes but it doesn't make me like school. I'm guessing this just proves that I'll never like school."
"Michael!" i hear a shout and turn around.
i see two boys.
one has dirty blond curly hair and one has black hair, who looks asian.
"who's this?" the asian looking kid asks.
"I'm Luke." i whisper.
"hi Luke! I'm Ashton and this is Calum. nice to meet you."
i smile and then my smile falters when i realize i have to pick up Lindsey and i completely forgot.
"I'm really sorry, i have to go pick up my sister."
Ashton frowns at how worried i sound.
"why can't your parents do that?"
"they wouldn't give a shit if me or my sister didn't come home at all." i say, looking down at my feet.
it becomes silent and i exit the school.
"we'll go with you Luke." Ashton says,
catching up to me, with Michael and Calum following him.
"i have to go home straight after though." i say, looking down at my feet.
"we'll hang out then."
"okay but you have to leave before my parents come home, alright?"
