The little girl cried her lungs out, inside the small basket, as her father walked away from the door. It was the hardest decision he had ever made, but with a dead wife, he knew that raising the girl was impossible. He hadn't been able to save his wife, there was no way that he was going to let the small girl end the same as her own mother.

Raphael Moore was trying so hard to fall asleep, and the constant crying from outside was certainly not helping. It was the very first night in days, in which he could enjoy the peacefulness, not a near-death experience, or night not remembering the death of everyone he loved. Being the most feared man on the earth had cost him everything.

"Sir?" A whisper called outside his bedroom. "Sir, we have a situation."

Raphael growled. "What?" He spat as he opened the door. He took a step back as he saw a small baby on Erick's arms. "Where did that come from?"

"She was dropped right outside the door," Erick explained. "She came with a letter."

"Call Lucas." Raphael sighed, as he grabbed the baby and letter and made his way towards the office.

"To whomever,

I'm sorry for intruding you with my daughter. I have just lost my wife, and I can't take care of her. She is barely two weeks old if you can't take care of her, just drop her off in an orphanage, since for the time you get this, I am next to my wife.

Thank you,

Gerald."

"No cameras got the face of the man?" Raphael questioned. "How is that possible!" He roared, causing the baby to cry again. "Someone shut her up!"

Lucas took the baby in her arms. "We got half a match." He replied, slowly calming the baby. "I already sent men after him, I'm waiting for a response."

Raphael nodded. "Now, what are we going to do with this baby?"

"Let's give her up for adoption." Erick spoke. "There are a couple of adoption centres here in town."

Raphael stared at the baby, her big eyes looked back at him. "Search for the best one. No, mistreat, no hunger, enough space." He ordered. "In the meantime, get a crib and the essentials for the baby, plus a fulltime nanny from our house, she's staying here."

Lucas chuckled. "And what are we going to call her?"

"Axelia." Raphael replied, walking away with the baby.

Five months later

Stephany sighed in frustration, Axelia didn't want to grab the bottle and was crying non-stop. This little girl was as stubborn as Raphael, guess that was the reason they got along so well. She had already tried everything, from her favourite pacifier, her teddy, and nothing, absolutely nothing was working.

Lucas rolled his eyes, as he heard little Axelia crying. The search for the perfect place for her was nothing but dead ends. Raphael was getting frustrated because of it, not because there wasn't a place for the baby, but rather because no place was fit for her.

"Stephany!" Lucas shouted. "Why is Axelia crying?" He added as he entered the girl's room.

"She won't grab her bottle!" She cried.

Axelia stared at Lucas before crying once again. "Hand her over." He ordered. "Come on princess," He whispered as he soothed her. "Drink up." He spoke as he tried to feed her.

It worked for three seconds before Axelia, rejected the bottle and started crying once again. A panicked look crossed Lucas' face. It wasn't good for the baby to be crying so much. Stephany let out a sigh, before walking out of the room, leaving a very confused Lucas with Axelia crying in his arms.

"I'm sorry to interrupt." Stephany whispered as he entered the study. "Axelia won't stop crying sir." Raphael raised an eyebrow. "I've tried everything." He nodded. "Lucas can't calm her down either, and she doesn't want to take the bottle."

"Bring her to me." Raphael sighed. This baby was going to be the death of him. He continued working on his papers when he heard the cries. "Axelia," He chuckled as he saw the small baby red from crying. "Calm down little button."

The baby started to calm down. "How?" Lucas whispered. "How can you do that?"

Raphael shrugged. "Hand me the bottle." He ordered.

"Here you go, sir." Stephany replied. Soon enough, Axelia was drinking her milk, and slowly falling asleep.

"Call Erick," Raphael started. "I'm adopting this baby."
