"So, are you ready for your date with Jacob?" Jesy asked, sitting down on the toilet seat and looking at me as I stared down my reflection in the mirror.

I shook my head as I pulled the hair tie off my wrist to put my lilac hair up in a pony tail with. "To be honest, I'd rather just stay home with Hatchi and eat loads of ice cream to freeze my sadness."

"So dramatic," she let out a small laugh before standing up and making me switch places with her.

"Always."

Jesy picked up my liquid eyeliner and told me to shut my eyes. "You know I love you and respect that you miss Zayn, but maybe you should give this Jacob Taylor guy a chance. He has to go through the same stuff as you and we all know that it's not as easy as the media want to make it seem," she said, as she finished doing her special winged eyeliner on both of my upper lids.

"Don't get me wrong, he's a great guy and all but it's hard to pretend that I love him when my heart is still in the tattooed hands of Zayn. He deserves a real relationship."

She gave me a sympathetic look before handing me my mascara. "Just try to be happy; you never know who you could run into tonight."

Jesy shut the bathroom door behind her as she left the room.

I looked at my reflection as I applied mascara to my lashes. Thanks to Jade's concealer, you no longer can see the purplish bags under my eyes and I no longer look like a zombie you'd see on The Walking Dead.

I sighed before I pulled my leather jacket on my body.

I can do this, I told myself, it's just a few hours.

Jesy appeared again in the doorway to tell me that the taxi has arrived to pick the girls and me up.

I nodded before grabbing my purse and following behind her.

“Where to?” He huffed.

Leigh-Ann gave him an address and he plugged it into his GPS. Thankfully, I had a window seat so I could stare out it like a cliché scene in a sad movie. “Cheer up, Buttercup,” she said to me when the driver started towards our first destination.

“Easy for you to say,” I muttered to myself.

“Seriously, Pezz, it’s not that horrible.”

“That’s because you have no clue what it’s like. I don’t even know why Susan thought this would be a good idea! She just added to the population of miserable pop stars.”

“You’re only miserable if you want to be,” Leigh said matter-of-factly.

“I want to be happy, but happy with Zayn.”

“Trust me, you can be with time.”

"Don't worry, be hippy. Remember Perrie?" Jade asked, giving me a slightly-comforting squeeze.

The driver pulled up to the mall and leaning casually against the concrete pillar was Jacob. He didn’t look too bad—not as attractive as Zayn, but still pretty nice. His hands were shoved in the front pocket of his tan trousers and his plaid shirt was tucked into them.

“Let Operation: Date Night commence!” Jade said, basically pushing me out of the car.

“But, wait, no, girls, I thought—!” but they had already made the taxi driver speed away to wherever they were actually going.

“I’m guessing they didn’t tell you?” Jacob asked, moseying his way over to me. I hated the way he moseyed.

“They’ve been acting weird all day. They’re up to something; and I’m going to figure it out,” I said, determined.

“I know what they’re up to. C’mon, Miss Edwards, and follow me.” I hated that I liked how he said my last name.
