To say you were sad was an understatement, saying you were beyond hurt felt more reasonable. This had been one of the worst weeks of your life. You distanced yourself from all of your friends, too overwhelmed with emotions to want to be near anyone. You knew that any moment the wall you had built over the past few weeks could come tumbling down and the last thing you wanted was for someone to witness yourself in such a vulnerable state.

Which is why today on this Thursday morning, you woke up extremely early for breakfast. This had been the typical routine for the last two weeks. You'd grab breakfast before the usual time that your best friends, Ron, Hermione & Harry would and then head to the library for light studying to distract yourself, and sooner or later its time for classes.

You did your basic morning routine quietly as possible, careful not to wake your roommates, and headed to the common room and out into the Great Hall. Of course, there were a few people already in the dining area but no one you knew thankfully. Diverting your eyes to the food in front of you, all that sounded good was pumpkin juice and a blueberry muffin. Half way through reading your book and indulging the muffin, someone clears their throat right infront of you making you snap out of your trance.

"Good morning!" Hermione chirped as she yawned but her eyes beamed with happiness.

"Oh, good morning," the nerves instantly flowing through your body. "why are you up so early?" You questioned

"Well, I could ask you the same thing" Hermione's face rose with suspicion.

"I just went to bed very early" You replied, glancing down at the book faced down to avoid looking at Hermione who was always able to tell when you were fibbing.

"(Y/n), something's going on. You know I'm not oblivious"

"What? I'm perfectly fine, nothings going on. You're my best friend, I'd tell you if something was wrong" You tried to reason but could tell Hermione was not gonna let this conversation die down by the long and hard stare she held on you.

"OKAY!" You exclaimed a bit louder than anticipated and got up, motioning for her to follow.

"Where are we going?" she asked as you huffed.

"Somewhere quiet" You mumbled, not prepared for the future conversation about to take place. How were you even gonna start off what truly was bothering you? What is she gonna think about who it involves? What if you were just overreacting? So many questions and so little time to process it all as you both had arrived at a little tree out in one of the courtyards.

"Okay, why did you bring me here?" Hermione questioned, still confused.

"Well to put it, I've found myself in a situation for the last few months and it's left me feeling utterly foolish" You explained, biting the inside of your cheek as all of the feelings hit you like a truck again.

"(Y/n), I'm gonna need a better explanation" Hermione grabbed your hands and motioned for you to sit down across from her on the patch of grass.

"Promise you won't get mad?" You asked and she quickly nodded.

"Ok well, there's this boy and I don't know how it happened, well I do but it's besides the point. Anyways, I fell for him. Hard." Your fingers began to vigorously fumble with one another as you searched for the right words.
