Prompt: You're having trouble focusing on homework so Cedric finds a way to encourage you

"I don't want to do this! I cant!" You groan, placing your head in your hands. You were in the library studying for your upcoming potions quiz with your boyfriend, Cedric. You two had been in the library for about an hour and a half now and although you had been studying nonstop, you weren't learning enough in a decent amount of time unlike Cedric who had already went over a units worth of studying.

"(Y/n) it'll be okay, you're a smart girl alright?" Cedric reassures from across the table, laying his hand down for you to take. "I don't think smarts the correct term" You mumble, accepting his hand as he gives you a gentle squeeze in return. 

"You make A's all the time" Cedric states matter-of-factly. 

"Yes but I really don't think I will this time" You just could not remember all the ingredients for certain potions and it was driving you insane.

"Maybe you just need to study a different way" Cedric suggests and you ponder for a moment for an idea but then slouch your shoulders as you couldn't muster up any good one's.

"Here, I got a plan" Cedric states, leaning down to grab something out of his bag. You raise your eyebrows as you watch him place a small clear bag of what looked to be candy in between you two. 

"Bertie Bott's Jelly beans?" You questioned, slightly gagging at the trauma caused last time from eating them that involved you actually throwing up as you ironically stumbled upon a throw-up flavor.

"We're gonna play a game" Cedric states, standing up from his seat and motioning for you to do the same. He sits down in your seat and pats his lap for you to take. You oblige as he grabs the bag of jellybeans and claps his hands together.

"We are going to look at each potion and their ingredients one at a time. You'll get a few moments to process the ingredients before I quiz you. For every one you get wrong, we will each grab one random jelly bean. No water or anything to wash out the taste, the only way to wash out the taste is by eating a new jelly bean which you can't achieve till you mess up again. Think of it as motivation not to be dumb" Cedric explains as you scoff.

"That's a very dangerous and perhaps flawed game Ced, what if I get throw-up again?" You questioned, earning a laugh from him.

"Guess I won't be kissing you till you get a better flavor like mint" Cedric replies and you groan but nod as a part of you grew excited but anxious at the added twist.

Cedric flips back to the very first unit and points at a potion, the Ageing Potion. "Okay this one I don't even need to study because there's only two main ingredients which are Newt spleens and bananas!" You answer, clapping your hands together like a little kid which made Cedric laugh at your overreaction. "You got lucky" Cedric sarcastically stated, causing you to lightly slap his arm. "Glad to see someone has hope in me" You remark before turning your attention back to the textbook.

"Okay study the Girding potion" Cedrics says as you nod and take a moment. "Oh boy" you groan as the ingredients seemed to be randomly paired. A few seconds later, Cedric covers the ingredients with his hands and you sigh before answering.

"There's dragonfly thoraxes, flying seahorses, doxy eggs and..." You began to think as the last ingredient was on the tip of your tongue. "wings!" you exclaim but Cedric shoots you a questioning stare.

"What kind of wings?" He asks making you groan. "Wings Cedric" You reply, huffing as he just smirks at you. 

"Yes love, wings. But there are many different kinds. There's dragon wings, butterfly wings, fairy wings. Like I said, many and they all could result in something different" Cedric explains and although you loved him, you wanted to hit him because you had no clue what the actual answer was.

"Dragon wings?" You state but it comes out more like a question and you could see Cedric's eyes flash with a hint of mischief so you quickly change your answer. "I meant fairy wings! I thought I said that the first time" You quickly lie, the last thing you wanted was to eat a mystery jelly bean. 

"Rules are rules. You totally guessed plus I even threw in the answer" Cedric argued, reaching into the bag of beans and handing you one. "I don't like this game" you groan as Cedric tightens his grip on your waist and places a kiss on your shoulder.

"Exciting isn't it?" Cedric questions knowing your answer right away. You roll your eyes and quickly pop the jelly bean into your mouth, Cedric doing the same. Instantly, your mouth was bursting with a sweet but tangy flavor. 

"I got cherry!" You say, a smile forming on your lips as you mentally thanked the god's. "I think I got chocolate pudding" Cedric infer's and you give him a little high five before he points at a new potion.

"I still hate this game" You state before memorizing the Pepperup potion.

Thirty jelly beans later, you and Cedric could nauseously say you had memorized the potions well enough for the upcoming quiz.

"I'm never eating those jelly beans again. I can't believe I got throw-up again" You remarked, shivering at the thought of that horrid taste. "But you have to admit, it made studying more riveting and you actually learned faster" Cedric said, handing you your backpack before walking out of the library.

"Yes, it did. Thank you Cedric, I appreciate you a lot you know" You note, standing up on your toes to plant a kiss upon his soft, pink lips.

"Yes I do, what kind of boyfriend would I be to not make my girlfriend eat a throw up jelly bean with no chaser to help till she messes up again?" Cedric questions sarcastically making you giggle.

"A non-evil one" You retort, turning on your heel to continue your walk to the (y/h/r) common room. "I'll see you tomorrow yeah?" Cedric asks and you nod before going in for one more quick kiss. 

"Goodnight (Y/n)" Cedric says before you split ways. "Goodnight Cedric" You reply with a soft smile as you couldn't help but acknowledge how lucky you were to be with such a sweet boyfriend.
