I set the book down on top of the half-wall, amazed at how little I knew about the Human's history. I knew that they were power-hungry, but that is cruel. "You don't know the half of it," Senex's voice came, "and they enslave their kind, just because of a different complexion. Animals, different species, same species, children, seniors, they will take anyone. Humankind is indeed an evil species, and they do not care much about those around them. They are a nuisance and they need to be put down." " You don't seem to be quite fond of Humans, how do you know so much about them?" " Because I was that first Golem, I am the first Earth. When the war broke out between man and us, I led the attack. I was the strongest Earth, the wisest, and the most favored out of them all. When the walls were breached and the Earth's came inside the walls, I went straight for the King. My Earth's broke through their petty wall and killed every last human in those walls, I wrapped my hands around the throat of the King and smashed his puny body into the ground, soon after the war, I took his robe and showed the Golems who the true leader is." He looked at his faded and holey robe, "We lived free after that day, and we no longer bore torment, nor suffered any longer. Well, that is until word somehow spread and reached out to everyone that the kingdom has fallen. Thousands upon thousands fought for the kingdom, but we stood strong, we said no, this our land, the land we forge, molded, and created, and you're not about to take it from us just yet. They came from everywhere, fighting a three-way battle all for one thing. Humans, Golems, and the creatures fought an endless war for seven days, The 7 Days of Hell. We would have lost if not for an unlikely hero, came to our aid, for he too hated man and creature alike. That hero was, King Herzad, the High King of the Dwarf armies. Yes, he of all, saw the war and proceed to annihilate the two offensive sides. He brought weapons unlike anything I have ever seen, huge metal contraptions that shot large boulders at their enemies. This all happened the sixth day of fighting, my Golems were running short; all that was left was one Earth, besides me, one Fire, one Water, and one Air. When we were on the brink of extinction, Herzad came to the rescue. The morning of the sixth day, a blast that sounded like thunder, came rolling through the battlefield. The noise shook the very castle, and of to the distance was Herzad and his Metal Beast, as he called it. The Metal Beast was classified as the humongous metal cannons that shot boulders and decimated his opponents. He cleared a path straight to the castle, we wanted to fight, but we were too few and too weak. Therefore, we laid aside our arms and opened to doors to what we thought was our new king, but we were wrong. King Herzad made us stronger by giving us new materials to use, by his side was the only Dwarf in history who was born with a magical trait. This Dwarf was known as Dwarf Draíochta, the magic dwarf. The Fires received a liquid fire that is now known as lava. The Airs received a temperature changer, meaning the colder the air, the more likely something will freeze the same as the hotter the more something will melt. The Waters received the power to use ice as a weapon and armor, from the peak of the Dwarven Mountain. Earths received a new material to use as armor, metal, from the ore of the Dwarven Mountain. Finally, I received the power to make newer, smarter, and tougher Golems. Together we all got a cloaking ability, able to hide under the shadow of nature. With these new enhancements and powers, we struck back onto the Humans and creatures and knocked them out of the land. We owe our allegiance to Herzad, for he saved us, and never did he use or enslave us. You say that a Dwarf is going to murder his kind. I hate hearing that sentence leave my mouth, but not as much as I do hate what lies in the Dwarven Mountain. Master Chris, I side with you. At any given point do you need us, recite these words, "I call for the Golem's to side with me!" They will come to your aid, and they'll see the enemy that troubled their master all those years ago, and as for that soul gem I just so happen to have one here." He walked over to a dusty chest and heaved it open. A loud creak came out and a bright purple light shines out. "The soul of the High King Herzad, it said to bring eternal life and will fell many enemies. Use it wisely, and be safe Master Gnome. Go through the way you came, it will lead you home. Goodbye Christopher Drinkwater may your arrow strike through Gimrak's eyes." He waved goodbye and I walked through the door.
