Justin's POV

I need money! I spent all of my money on that stupid, cool-looking cape!

I looked out of the window of my small little apartment and stared at the tree. Then I sighed.

Ever since I decided to become a wizard when I was younger, it was hard getting money. There wasn't much options for a wizard to earn that money. But... Of course Lailah got it all figured out. She put a board up so people can freely ask her for help, so she seems pretty well off with her money situation...

So...  decided to put one up myself. The area where I live is far away from the town's center so some people have no choice but to come to me for help. People aren't as eager to ask me because apparently, I quote, 'You don't do the job right.'

What exactly do they mean by that? I get it done so I got it right! Right?

I sighed again... I still need a job to do so I can earn more money.

I grabbed my cape, put it on, then I head out the door. As I head out the door I can see people looking at me weirdly... I guess people have different opinions on the cape I bought... but I STILL LOOK COOL! I smile at that thought.

I walk toward the board that I put up to earn money... That's a lot of things to do... Lets look at the one that offers the most... 100,000,000 gold coins?

        That's a lot!

        For what?

My eyes trailed down the paper looking for what I have to do to get that much... I saw her. Lailah. Why does anyone want her captured? Then I saw I tiny sized handwriting on the bottom: Lailah is wanted for destroying a fishing village nearby.

I start laughing really hard... Tears even came out of my eyes.

          Lailah?

         Destroy a fishing village?

I thought she was a complete goody two shoes. I laugh even harder. After a few moments I started calming down. Who would ever thought that perfect little Lailah would destroy something or someone... The thought of it was ridiculous! If our old magic teacher saw this poster....  He probably would think of it as a hoax!

Nevermind about that... I still need the money...

I walk back to my tiny apartment to grab my necklace. Yes, yes, I know it sounds a little girlish, but I desperately need it. Since my magic is based on the earth element it's very unstable, so without that necklace I could accidently kill someone and then get thrown in to prison... or worse.

I really don't want that happening...

1,000,000 gold coins... I grin. Now that's a lot of money... More than enough to buy a better home and maybe some more wizard supplies.

Now where did I put that necklace? I think put it somewhere near the fireplace... There it is! Right next to... the picture of my family...

I haven't seen them in a while... Ever since my parents told me they were working for the dark side, I ran away and started a new life. You know what's even more upsetting? They asked me to join them! When they did, I started yelling about how I would never do that in a million of years. But... We were so happy before that happened...

I don't know why I still keep the picture but I guess it brings back good memories... as well as the bad ones I can't seem to forget...

Shaking my head to clear my head, I then glance at the hourglass... I think I should start heading out now.
