[About a minute and a half earlier ]
[Gundham's pov]
I said my goodbyes to Sonia and the man who had just walked up and went to be alone for a moment. Since she walked up to me I had not been able to have a moment to myself now I had that moment. Or so I thought.
I soon felt one of my devas coming out of my scarf, likely because it had something to inform me of.
"Is something wrong, Maga-Z?" I mumbled looking down at it
Maga-Z used its paw to point to a woman standing across the entrance hall from my position and I looked up to see. My eyes do they deceive me!? Across the hall was the mirror image of what I'd imagine the girl I'd known in elementary would look like now looking directly at me. She had the same (s/c) skin, (e/c) eyes, (h/c) hair, the same posture when she stood alone, her face shape only slightly slimmer than when I'd last seen it. She looked away when it became apparent that I'd taken notice, Could it really be? After all these years, is it really her? I began walking over to her without a complete thought. What do I say to her, it is likely that she is someone completely different... I'll just start the conversation with how I came to notice her, that is all.
I walked directly to the girl, she seemed like she was lost in thought about something, it was unlikely she'd noticed I was now standing right next to her.
"Pardon me." I said in an attempt to get her attention.
She looked extremely nervous when she noticed me speaking to her "Oh! Um, hi! Did you need something?" She very nervously laughed.
"I apologize but one of my devas," I gesture to Maga-Z who is still seated on my shoulder, "noticed that you were staring at me from afar I-" She stopped me mid-sentence with her apology
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to stare but well-" She paused and smiled for a second which was confusing to me, what was the reason for this short pause?
"Is everything alright?"I ask
When she spoke again she had a far off look in her eye while her tone was a lot calmer than before "Sorry, it's just what you called your hamster... I- I had a childhood friend who used to call them the same exact thing... Heh, it's funny how much you actually look like him, that was the reason I was looking. I didn't mean to make things awkward."
Could this girl really be (y/n)? No, it is unlikely that fate would make us cross paths again, not with what life has given me up until this point. "Ah, that is reasonable" I mumble, if this isn't who I thought it was I cannot let her see past the persona I've made. And so, I began rambling on about my power level being intimidating and that I thought she may have been scared, it was a good monologue. But then she just brushed it off...
"Anyway... so um, I guess that everyone's just kinda introducing themselves to one another, um, my name's (y/n) (y/l/n) and I'm the Ultimate Empath." Her nervous demeanor had returned with her introduction
BY THE NAMES OF THE DARK GODS IT IS HER! I knew it! Finally, I can say what I've wanted to say for all of these years... "So, it was just as I had guessed..." I let my persona fall for just that moment "Hello again, old friend."
[present time]
[regular pov]
You were shocked "Wait, Gundham!? Wow, you really changed your look and that voice too, I almost couldn't recognize you." You laugh
He looked kind of sad "Yes, I have changed an amount since we last met. It does seem though that you stayed very much the same."
You assumed the reason he seemed upset was because of the way you left, you couldn't tell if the betrayal stuck with him or not but none the less you felt bad about it but just before you said something he spoke up.
"Look, (y/n), I apologize for the way I treated you before you left back then. All I thought about then was the betrayal of our promise, I did not think about the fact that you may not have had a choice in the matter. I understand if how I acted made you upset, or possibly even resent me, but I do want you to know I do regret it..." He said somberly as he looked at the floor.
"Gundham... I don't hate you for that, frankly, I'm surprised you held onto that for so long. Yeah, back then I was sad that you started avoiding me but I knew that I broke your trust. I mostly only felt bad because I knew you felt bad... I'm sorry." You reached out and put your hand on his shoulder, he sort of flinched for a second but calmed himself quickly.
"You don't have to apologize (y/n), but I am glad that you have forgiven me..." He smiled while sort of lowering his head into his scarf.
"GOOD NOM NOM NOMING!!!" A cheery female voice interrupted your moment, you turned to see a girl waving and smiling at you two "Sorry to interrupt the moment but I wanted to introduce myself! I'm I. Buki. Mio. Da! Put it together and whaddya get? IBUKI MIODA!! Ulitmate Musician!" This girl had a lot of energy, maybe too much, but she seemed like a fun person to be around.
"Hi! I'm (y/n) (y/l/n)! Ultimate Empath." You smiled and waved back.
All of the sudden Gundhams tone got more intense "My name is Gundham Tanaka! Remember it well mortal, for it is the name that will one day rule this world!"
Holy crap he changed quickly... You tried to hide your surprise.
"It's nice to have met ya! So, what's your talent?" Ibuki asked pointing at Gundham.
"My mortal title is the Ultimate Breeder." He crossed his arms as three more hamsters came out of his scarf
"WOAH! HAMSTERS! SO CUTE!" She gushed
"Th-Thank you..." He pulled his scarf over his face a little
After a little while of conversation Ibuki parted ways with you two.
"'The name that will one day rule this world?' I think I remember that little quote from somewhere." You smile
"What do you mean by that!?" He looked a bit flustered "Silence yourself."
You giggle a bit "Okay, I won't ask. We should probably go introduce ourselves to the others as well. We can catch up later."
"I will speak to you later then, Angel." He waved as he walked elsewhere.
Introductions with the others were an interesting experience, this was defiantly going to be an interesting school life.
