*Hunter’s POV

I picked on the shy girl that I’d love to know better. “Hey Shayna!” She ran up to me and wrapped me in a loving, bear hug. It was so warm, something hadn’t felt in a while since I just toured in Maine.

“So um, what song do ya wanna sing?” I asked. She stood up tall, and shrugged for a second, until something popped in her head.

“Can we sing Storm Warning? I think it would sound really cool in acoustic!”

I nodded my head and grabbed my guitar, slinging it over my shoulder.  “Whenever you’re ready!”

She started to nod her head to the imaginary beat in her head, as I started to strum the guitar to the beat of her head nods.

“One, two three… She rolled in from the west in her summer sun dress hotter than the heat in July…” We continued on with the song until the final strum of my guitar. Shayna was really good. She was actually more than really good! Her voice on its own was spectacular, and when we sang together, she got the harmonies perfect!

She smiled with joy and just looked at me, smiling and laughing in shock. Her smile was adorable and heartwarming.

 “Thanks, you sounded amazing!”

“Thanks, but you were better, you’re amazing.”

“No trust me, you’re better Shayna, and let’s leave it at that. Can’t wait so see you out in the crowd.”

I extended out my arms for a hug, as she reached in with one in return. So tight, but so gentle, and so warm and perfect. I wish I could keep this hug forever, and never leave her arms.

“Sorry but the Coffee House Experience with Hunter is over guys, I hope you all had an amazing time. We will be taking individual pictures and meet and greets next. Woooooh!”

This was always the best part of CHE’s meeting the fans and getting to know them, and hearing their stories, it’s so heartwarming and fun!

I got past just about everyone, except for the last batch of girls in line. There were four of them, and one of them was Shayna.

The first girl of the group was named Christina, and then Lindsey, and Maddie. They were all with Shayna, but I could see that’s who they truly were, and Shayna wasn’t herself. The looks weren’t really the real Shayna Aubat. The three girls I talked to pretty quickly because they didn’t even know me, not one thing, not a song or anything!

Her friends actually left her and went outside after meeting me. Not much of a surprise to me though. “Hey Shayna!” “Hey Hunt!” She seems so nonchalant with meeting me unlike a lot of other girls. Once more she wraps me in a perfect hug, as I wish she would never let go.

“Could you sign my shirt, phone case, and cd?” she asks. “Yeah sure!” I take the case and shirt and sign my signature, and with the CD I write, “Thanks for being a fan, great singer, and great hugger. Stay true to yourself. All the love, Hunter Hayes.”

 “So tell me your story.”

“I already told you about me Hunter, what more do you need to know?”

“I mean more than facts about you, your real story!”

A lot of people wouldn’t be interested in this stuff, but I’m kind of a dork, so it interests me.

“Well, my parents are divorced and my mom is my legal guardian, but I haven’t seen her in a few weeks so I’ve been left to fend for myself.” She continued to tell me her story, and it was remarkably incredible, but it came to show time. Then, Maddie walked back in, she quickly whispered something to Shayna, to which Shayna nodded. Maddie then approached me.

‘Hey Hunt, just so she doesn’t break your heart later, Shayna doesn’t like you.”  I couldn’t believe that, until I turned around to find Shayna with a smirk and nodding her head. She really doesn’t like me? Oh. I turned around with a frown on my face, and with a final glance, turned back to Shayna and said, “See you on stage.”
