BACKGROUND : She was born into a divorced family in Daegu before moving with her mother to Seoul. She had shown an interest in performing since she was young, and her mother promised that she could audition if she got top grades in school- so she did. At 16 she auditioned for SM Entertainment and was accepted, eventually becoming an official SM Rookie, and she expected to debut there. She stayed with the company for 4 years until she realized SM didn't have plans to debut another girl group soon. She left and found herself applying to university since she believed fate didn't lead her to being a K-Pop artist. However, her last year she performed at a school concert and was scouted by Source Music. She took it as a sign and decided to try out- and has been continuing her training since.

PERSONALITY : Aera is very mature and responsible. She always has the right words to say and understands what her members are going through. She's observant to see if something's wrong with anyone, or if she needs to clean up their dances. She keeps to herself and isn't the most talkative unless prompted or she feels like her members need her to talk. She's closed off and doesn't like talking about her struggles or worries. She's a perfectionist too, meaning the girls practice a lot longer than they need to, and after that she still practices even more. She overthinks a lot as well, but she tries pushing it aside since it hinders the group.
