~0 prologue

   (Y/N) POV:

Mom had texted me to come home from Aireana's house for some random reason. I walked through the front door and I see mom sitting at the table crying. I hurry over to her and sit next to her "What's wrong?" I say panicked. She looks up at me tears in her eyes "The police took your dad." She whimpers out. I look at her shocked and confused "What do you mean they took him what did he do?" She takes a deep breath "They are accusing him of rape and murder." She wipes her tears "What that doesn't make sense he would never do anything like that!" I yell. She hugs me "I know sweetie we have to get through this together and help your dad through this." I nod hugging her back. The next 2 weeks were a living hell for us. Since we live in such a small town word spread like wild fire. People would vandalize our property with nasty messages and anyone we were close to distanced themselves. Kids at school were so cruel to me and wouldn't leave alone with non-stop harassment. To make everything worse nothing good was happening with my dads case. One day after school i came home and my mom was already home from work. She was sitting on the couch texting "Hey mom, why are you home so early?" She looks up at me patting the spot next to her. I sit and she starts to talk "Your principal called me and told me about how all the kids are acting towards you. He also told me about how they keep writing on your locker." I look at the ground. The only reason I didn't tell her was because I didn't want to stress her out anymore. She takes a deep breath "I get why you didn't want to tell me but I think it's best if you go back to japan and stay with your aunt." I Quickly look up at her and see her red watery eyes. She wraps her arm around me "What about you, You wont have anyone. Plus it's my last year of high school, How will I make friends?" Mom let's out a deep breath while lightly squeezing me "I feel like it is the best choice for you. I'll be fine I'm more worried about you and your mental health with this whole situation." I nod. She hugs me "Let's get you packed i want you out of this shit town as soon as possible." I nod hugging her while I cry in her shoulder. We spend my weekend packing and going through my things. On Monday morning we wake up at the ass crack of dawn. We grab my things and drive to the airport. My mom waits with me as long as she can. Then it's time for me to get on the plain. I cry saying my goodbyes, I get on the pain. Once I'm situated and the plain takes off I fall asleep.
