Tony's POV

I hear the banging of pans downstairs and turn over to look at my alarm clock. 8:15. Oh shit I woke up really late today. Who am I kidding I always wake up late.

I hear foot steps approach my room and my door slowly creaks open. I look up and see that isn't is Jarvis who walks in to tell me that Ana had made a special breakfast for my first day at my new school.

I really didn't want to go to this new school. It sounded really boring but I had already been kicked out of enough schools and I don't want to let Jarvis and Ana down even more. But I mean who would want to go to a place called S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy? Sounds like a place full of stuck up boring people.

At least my new school is close enough that I can still see Ana and Jarvis. Apparently one of their old friends founded it. I have no clue what that has to do with them calling it a really fun and interesting place though. I mean most of their friends that I know worked as telephone operators in the 1950's.

It might end up being boring but I still have to give it a chance. I look over and see my bags piled in the corner ready to go to the car. I guess this will be a good time to work on developing my Arc Reactor.

Oh yeah. For those of you who don't know, my Arc Reactor is a miniature version of the one my dad developed to power Stark Industries. The one difference however is that my Arc Reactor keep shrapnel in my chest from moving closer to my heart.

The story of why I have that shrapnel in my chest in the first place is a rough one. The first ever business trip my dad takes me on is to test a new Jericho Missile for the United States Army.

After he launched the missile, a group called the Ten Rings decided to launch missiles at us. While I was being evacuated in a military Caravan, they bombed us. The Caravan flipped and shrapnel imbedded into my chest.

I wake up in a cave after having my head shoved underwater until there was no more air in my lungs. I was also getting shocked but I didn't understand why until I see a car battery hooked up to my chest.

After they finished torturing me, they brought me into a room in the cave to build them their own Jericho Missile. All I had was scraps of other Stark Industries missiles and a man named Yinsen to help me build it.

Yinsen was the doctor who helped remove shrapnel from my chest and hook me up to the car battery to stop the rest of the shrapnel from reaching my heart.

Flashback

It was dark and the pain in my chest was only one thing keeping me from sleeping on this horrible night.

Yinsen and I have been trying to build the suit without the Ten Rings figuring out. Every second I feel a sense of panic knowing that there is shrapnel in my chest trying to fight its way to my heart.

Yeah it scares me to know that every second might be my last. Tomorrow is the day. The day that we get out of this hell hole and I can help Yinsen reunite with his family.

I still have nightmares about that cave and Yinsen. He helped me use the missiles to create a mini arc reactor and a metal suit to help us get out of the cave.

When we finished building the suit and started to escape, Yinsen was shot and told me to leave him and that he had never planned to make it out alive. I reminded him about his family and how he wanted to see them again. What he didn't tell me was that his family was killed by the Ten Rings when they took him hostage.

It's been 5 years and I still wish I could have gotten him out of there alive since he did so much to make sure I could live.

I decide to take a cold shower to shake myself from the dark thoughts.

After I showered and got dressed, I headed downstairs to have breakfast with Ana and Jarvis before we leave.

We had the pancakes, bacon, and fruit that Ana had set out on the table with a smile. After we finished eating I went to help Jarvis move my bags downstairs and towards the car.

On my way out to the car Ana hugged me goodbye and I helped Jarvis load my bags into the car and then we started on the 45 minute ride to my new school.

On the way to the Academy I couldn't help but think about the event that led to me being eligible for this school.

I quickly snap myself out of my memories and see a giant gate in front of me. The gate opens and I see dozens of kids my age running around or blowing things up with technologically advanced guns and bombs including the occasional colored smoke of a smoke bomb .

I started to get the feeling that this was going to be a good school year and I might actually make some friends here.
