Steve's POV
All I feel is cold. Everything is cold. The impact pushed all of the air from my lungs. Water is slowly filling the cockpit and my skin is turning blue. I take one last breath before everything went black.

I wake up gasping for air and curl further into the warm blankets surrounding me on the floor. It's been over 3 months since I have been woken up from the ice and I never want to feel the cold ever again.
I consistently have nightmares every night. Sometimes I'm talking to Peggy over the radio, steering the plane towards the water, and my final moments of consciousness after the collision with the ice.
Sometimes I see Bucky holding onto the train for his life and reaching out for me then falling to his death and there was nothing I could do to save him.
The outcome of the dream is always the same. Someone dies because of me. Not just someone.
My best friend.
"Captain Rogers, it is time for you to go to your new school." An excited Coulson called through the door.
"Coming, just give me a minute." I responded quietly.
"Ok, well just be quick about it. Director Fury won't like it if you are late on your first day." Coulson said.
Yeah
I sigh as I put on my shoes, grab my bag, and walk towards the door.
"So are you excited for your first day of school?" Coulson asked as we drive to the school.
"I don't really know how I feel but I am a bit excited to meet new people after so long." I respond after a minute of thinking.
Five minutes later Coulson spoke again as we pulled up to the gates of the Academy.
"Welcome to S.H.E.I.L.D Academy, Captain Rogers."
I stare at the huge compound in front of me in awe. Everywhere I look there are kids my age carrying around bags full of books, weapons and who knows what.
Next to the entrance I could see a girl with bright red hair attack a tall blond guy with a punch to the face and then tackled him to the ground in a giant hug while still punching him.
'People in the future are weird' I thought to myself.
Well, new school, new time, new opportunities. Maybe this time I can try to live a normal life.
