"Hi, mom" I greeted my mom
"You don't have work today so who did you go out with today?" my mom asks
"Stell" I replied
"Oh...I really want to meet that woman who makes my son happy"
"Mom, she's busy. And I don't think she likes me the way I like her." I reply in disappointment
"Did you ask her?"
"About what, Mom?"
"About what she feels about you?"
"No."
"No? then why do you think she doesn't like you too? why don't you ask her?"
"I'm afraid, Mom. Though I know she likes someone else but I'm still afraid because my feelings might ruin our friendship; the friendship that I treasure and the only I have with her."
"Mom, I can't imagine her walking away from me when I can make her stay with the friendship we have." I explain "I know it's impossible because I just met her months ago, but what can I do when I feel this way? When I want to take good care of her, be right by her side whenever she needs someone – Mom I don't really know what to do with this feeling." I added.
"Son, I know you are torn between two difficult situations but if you won't take the risk there will be no progress. Both of them have consequences but it's up to you if you will risk your friendship with her...but will you be okay to stay as friends?" Moms words always makes me calm.
"I don't know, Mom." I replied
"It's been a long time since you chose what makes you happy, don't you think?"
"Uhmm..."
"Come on, take your bath and I will prepare you're the dinner. Your Dad will come any time soon" Mom said.
I like Stell the day my eyes laid on her, that's why seeing her for the second time was euphoric but I think I am not yet ready take the risk since it's not that long from the day I met her. Having her by my side was enough to make me happy.
