Is It Like Deadweight?

"Oh yeah, I guess I could be heavy after all. Is it like deadweight?" I ask, and wait for them to process the joke.

It takes a few moments, and then the choking starts again, this time, with laughter.

"Hey, don't die on me, I don't know if you guys can become ghosts!" I say, which only serves to make them laugh more.

"Kacchan, you're a hero, save them before they die of laughter!" I fake plead.

He shrugs, making his way over to the waiting area, where a few other students wait.

"If they die of laughter, it's their own damn fault." he says, smirking.

The squad drags themselves over here, calmer now, but still holding in laughter.

Kirishima's grinning so hard I think he might break his face.

Kaminari's not holding anything in, dying on the ground.

Sero's laughing, but he's still standing up.

Ashido's holding her sides, looking close to death, but still upright.

Shinso's smiling, which seems to be about as close to laughter as he can get without being surprised.

By the time they're all completely calmed down, the rest of the class is out, and Iida is trying to get everyone in order.

The bus doesn't have the layout he predicted, so it's useless, but at least he tried.

The frog girl, Asui, starts talking to Kirishima. "Hey, I always say what's on my mind."

"Hmm? Yeah, that's manly, what're you trying to say?" he asks.

"You and some of the others act pretty strange. Sometimes it seems like you're talking to some one the rest of us can't see." She says.

I choke, and Kirishima glances over at me. I shake my head, making an 'X' with my arms, and tell him, "No."

"Oh, you mean Hagakure? I talk to her sometimes. Of course you can't see her though, that's her quirk. Speaking of quirks, a lot of you guys have really flashy ones, sort of makes me jealous." Kirishima lets out this flood of words, trying to change the topic.

Asui doesn't look impressed by his attempt to steer the conversation away from the topic that would eventually lead to me, but she goes with it anyways.

Everyone starts comparing their quirks, and I only listen halfheartedly until Kacchan's name comes up.

"If we're talking flashy and strong, you can't not mention Bakugo and Todoroki!" I hear.

I agree with the first part, but Todoroki would be stronger if he didn't hold back so much.

"Bakugo's always fuming, so he won't be very popular." Asui comments.

Kacchan yells at the same time I do, though only some of the people on the bus can hear me.

"You bitch! I'll be popular too!" Kacchan shouts.

"How dare you! Kacchan will too be popular, and I'll be his number one fan!" I shout with him.

The people who can hear me, plus a few others, chuckle at our responses.

"See?" Asui says, pointing at Kacchan.

I would go over there and punish her, but she's a frog, and a possible friend, so I don't want to hurt her.

"It's only been a brief while since our socialization has commenced and yet already we have been made apodictically cognizant of your personality, redolent as it is of a turd getting steamed in a sewer." Kaminari says.

"Huh!? What the hell kind of vocabulary is that!? I'll fucking kill you!!" Kacchan shouts back.

"Someone's been reading their dictionary, I'll help, Kacchan." I say, letting off a little bit of cold.

Kaminari shrinks back with a small whimper, and everyone laughs and continues talking until we make it to our destination.

When we get there, the pro hero No. 13 introduces the place as 'The Ultimate Space For Jams'.

Mr. Aizawa starts talking to 13, and I move in closer to hear what they're saying.

It seems All Might used up all his time. I report back to Kacchan, whispering what I learned in his ear, despite my having disabled visibility for the rest of the squad.

13 starts a speech about quirks, and how deadly they are, I'm partially listening, but eventually my attention is drawn away by a purple void appearing near the fountain.

"Hey, Kacchan?" I try to get his attention, but I'm cut off by Mr. Aizawa.

"Stay close! Those are villains!" he shouts, and my non-existent stomach drops.

So many things are happening all at once, but I have only one thing in my head.

"Protect Kacchan."

Comment, I'm lonely.
