TATBILB: College Edition

Chapter 26

I'm about two months pregnant and everyone at the hospital knows and I can still be doing surgeries but when I hit 8 months pregnant they said I have to be in maternity leave so right now I'm in the hospital taking care of one of my patients while we get her setup for her surgery, she asked me "Hey, how many months afar are you?" I smiled and said "I'm two months why?" She nodded and said "I was just asking because I wanna have kids soon." I smiled and said "Your still in college you have a bright future, don't be like me I was in college when I had my first kids." She looked at me confused and I giggled and said "What I mean is that I had twins one boy and one girl and right now they are in first grade and then I had my third one while I was still in med school she is in kinder right now so all three of them are safe." She nodded and said "Oh ok, what's the name of that hot doctor over there staring at us." I saw where she was pointing at and I saw Peter, I turned back and said "That is my husband, his name is Peter but here he is Dr.Kavinsky and so am I." She turned red and said "I am so so sorry, I didn't know he was your husband." I smiled and said "Don't worry about it your not the first one and won't be the last one to say that about him." She giggled and said "Ok." 

I was in the middle of the surgery when Peter came in and said "Dr.Kavinsky they need you in a different surgery like right now." I looked up and said "Dr.Kavinsky can you tell that person that I'm in middle of a surgery right now please, tell them to not bother me right now." He nodded and left. After a while I was closing the patient up and Peter came in and said "Dr.Kavinsky sorry but they need you right now it's a very risky surgery and they know you can fix that so they need you right now." I sighed and said "Okay, let me close up this patient and then I'll go over there. What OR is it?" He nodded and said "OR 6." I nodded.

After my first surgery I went over to the patient's family and said "Okay so your daughter is great, right now she is in recovery and you guys can see her in a bit, Dr.Wilson will show you her room and you guys can visit her." I looked at wilson and she nodded. Then I went into the OR and I saw that they were struggling so I scrubbed in and said "What do we have here? What happened?" Dr.Avery said "she fell down from a fifth floor and she has a broken leg and nose." I nodded and said "Get Dr.Torres in here and I'll do the nose part." They looked at each other and said "Dr.Torres isn't here." I looked at them and said "Well call her and tell her to bring her ass in her right now we need her." They nodded and Dr.Riggs went to call her. Then she scrubbed in and said "What happened to her? Why did you need me?" I sighed and said "I'm gonna have you fix her leg up because she fell off a fifth floor and has a broken leg and nose." She nodded and said "Okay." And she started working on her leg then I started doing her nose.

After that surgery they told me I should go and tell her family how she is, so that is what I'm doing. I yelled "Parents of Montana Tucker?" They all came up to me and said "How is she? Did she make it?" I told them "Slow down there is nothing to worry about when it comes to MY patients I never lose patients and Montana did make it she is in recovery but in a few hours you can go see her, Dr. Deluca will show you were her room is at." They all said Thank you and I left.

Peter and I went home and saw the kids, my feet were killing me so I went to take a nap. I woke up because I felt Tessa jumping up and down I talked her and started tickling her she started laughing and then Peter came in and said "Don't do that to my baby girl."I laughed and said "I'll do whatever I want to her." He smiled and came to sit next to me, all of us cuddled and fell asleep.
