Obvious the first thing you have to do is add your text. The font that I am using right not is Cinzel, Cinzel is honestly a pretty amazing font and can be used on pretty much any genre.

2. I need you to duplicate your text layer and take a black air brush, and make a new layer. This new layer will be on clipping so it will be easier to make the gradient. Take your airbrush and make a black to white gradient. You can use any color depending on what color you want you text to be. If you want a gold metallic you can use gold instead of black.

3. Next you need to merge down the gradient to the top text layer. It will ask you to rasterize the text, click yes.

4. Next move the top text layer that has the gradient on it and shift it ever so slightly in a direction of your choice. This will create the illusion that it is a 3 dimensional text.

Lower the opacity to your choosing. The more you lower it the brighter it will be.

5. Next merge the shifted gradient layer down to the text layer and click on the FX filter button and go to the style tab at the bottom. Click on bevel and adjust the settings until you like it. I usually like to do the highest height and no smooth. That way it looks more like a edge of sword instead of a stove top. You can bevel is as many times as you want to increase the sharpness. I usually do 1-2 times depending on what I am looking for. Any more than 3 makes the text look too contrasted.

6. There you go! You have some text, if you want to give it a different hue you can always change the highlight color in the bevel settings or go to Adjust color in FX and change the hue.
