Chapter two — Actually all his systems are nervous
__________
"People with anxiety don't have a train of thought. They have 7 trains on 4 tracks that narrowly avoid each other when paths cross and all the conductors are screaming."
__________
Once they were asked to introduce themselves to the class, three of the four that were standing in the front looked at Tamaki, then made eye contact with each other, then looked at Tamaki again. All of them thinking the same thing: "This is going to be bad."
After a few seconds of silence the tallest one of them, Y/n L/n, spoke in a deep, velvety voice that suited the image the other students had of him almost too well.
"I am L/n Y/n, it is a pleasure to meet you all." He gave a slight respectful bow to his onlookers.
The way he spoke was calm and collected, his voice was clear; not too loud, but also not too quiet. His words seemed like they were thought and planned out even though, in reality, they weren't.
The next to introduce themself was Tamaki Amajiki — at least it should've been.
Tamaki raised his gaze to face class 1-A and he gave them, at least in the eyes of the intimidated teenagers, an ice cold glare. In reality the nervous 17-year-old was trying so hard to ignore the stares that he himself forgot not to stare.
"No good..." The currently 'glaring' individual spoke to no one in particular. "This is no good." The students he was looking at were screaming in their heads.
"What kind of standards does he have!?" They collectively thought. "He just looked at us!" The intimidation factor going way higher than anyone in the classroom hoped for, yet all of those emotions were replaced with plain old confusios when Tamaki continued talking.
"I was going for potatoes, but..." His shaky voice died down in his throat. His tall boyfriend put a comfortingly warm and large hand on the small of the anxious boy's back, urging him to continue because even he himself was curious where the aforementioned potatoes fit in with everything.
"They all still look like people from the neck down. What d-do I do? Having trouble... speaking." The first years were thoroughly confused, but his all knowing boyfriend knew exactly what was going on, after all, it's all happened before and it probably will again. Luckily, because of all the times he has witnessed this, he was well versed in the art of calming Tamaki down.
Tamaki was now shaking, still having a mental battle with himself. He lost all the confidence he previously had and quickly looked down at the floor as he slowly curled in on himself. At this moment the thing he needed most was comfort, but he didn't dare ask for it since he knew it would be inappropriate if given.
Mirio and Nejire looked at him, worry evident on their faces if examined close enough. The sudden looks that they were giving him did not help Tamaki at all. He felt all of the eyes that were on him, roaming his body, looking for something but he didn't know what and he felt so incredibly uncomfortable because of it.
He wanted to tell them to stop, he wanted everything to stop. He had a million thoughts clouding his mind, yet he could not put them into words. This wasn't unusual, on the contrary, this was actually a very common thing. It was just somehow enhanced now.
