𝄥𝄞────────── 𝄇
Haru, a male brunette who seem to be in his late 20s, cautiously walked around the dark gloomy night observing every small movement his golden eyes could capture.
His shift had just ended and if he was being honest, he would've loved to have ran home and bathed in hot warm water and thrown himself onto his small soft comfy bed.
However, being able to run home was no longer a safe thing to do...especially in a mysterious scary alley at night.
In just the past 5 years crime rates in Japan had increased dramatically. No one knows exactly why, but some theorized that the poor and abused eventually grew tired of being mistreated and neglected by the rich for so long...so many started joining gangs as a way to protest, and as the gangs grew, control grew, eventually fear took over citizens, and some groups even began bribing authorities to keep silent, and over time, gangs expanded like ant colonies and empires throughout the land of the once peaceful country, Japan.
Haru didn't like the thought of police officers, detectives, or any kind of authorities accepting money to stay quiet. How can someone call themselves or let others worship them by naming them a "hero" when all they did was coward away and choose greed over justice?
The male then reached a stoplight, and he knew that it was time to make a tough decision...take a shortcut home or take the longer way home. Now you may wonder, how is that even a hard decision? It's obvious that he should just take a shortcut home!
Well you see, the shortcut may require less walking...but it requires more courage and consciousness since there aren't many light poles in the area...plus the place is full of surprises. Definitely not the ones worth seeing.
On the other hand, the other way did require more walking, but in return it provided a safer environment with light poles almost everywhere and security cameras observed every movement. It may sound creepy, but cameras really do come in handy. Especially in neighborhoods where crimes at night where starting to rise.
Haru knew better, so even if it took longer to get home, in the end he decided to take the long but "safer" way home.
"Ugh...well this is what you get Haru, for not thinking carefully..."
The brunette was definitely not in a good mood, but he silently thanked himself for taking this path instead, because deep down he knew that the possibilities of dying weren't as high as before. (Not that he was scared of the dark, he was just too tired to fight and using a gun was definitely out of his watch)
Wait a minute, where is his car? Good question, you see, Haru is the type who is willing to sacrifice anything (even his own life) to save others, since he takes his job very seriously.
Less than a week ago, his car got destroyed when he was driving on his way to work. Everything was calm, until he heard a few police sirens and saw a man with a white van, from behind him driving like a psycho. The driver surpassed the speed limit and didn't stop or slow down, which caused a few cars to get hit and citizens to run for there lives.
Haru realized that ahead of him where a group of mothers, carrying their babies, walking across the road, unaware of the danger approaching them. In just a few seconds, Haru came up with a plan, even though it was risky. But that didn't matter to him, that was his job after all, no matter the danger or risk of the situation, his job was to keep people safe.
The van began approaching the woman and just as they saw the van approaching them, Haru used his car as a shield and this caused the van to hit his car, which gave the woman enough time to run to safety.
