Chapter 2

Aanav P.O.V.

"Alpha, there's a college nearby but it's on neutral ground, " Enzo, our third in command said.

"You can go now, " I said. He bowed and went away.

"I think we should apply for this college, " I said.

"Hmm... Go and apply for this college, " Aakav said. I took my laptop from the desk and started filling up forms for 25 students. Our earlier college we're destroyed because of rogue attack. Yes, we are werewolves. So now we should look for another college. Our earlier Alpha, Alpha Bentrick, wanted his son Aakav a well educated Alpha. He wanted Aakav to complete college, unlike any Alpha.

"Done, " I announced.

"Good what about the patrol?" He asked.

"We have increased it, Alpha, " I said.

"How many times I have to tell you don't call me Alpha when we are alone. You are my friend before my Beta, " he said.

"Okay. Sorry," I replied. I and Aakav had been friends since toddlers. We shifted at the same time. We are so close that everyone thought we are gay. Even now they think because we haven't found our mates.

"Aanav, I'm calling it a day. Good night, " he said and went away. I also went after completing some task.

Today is the day of our college. Any normal human being would feel nervous and excited. I was feeling neither excited nor nervous.

After registering my name and Aakav's name we were waiting for our other pack members to complete their registration. Suddenly, I smelt a sweet combination of cocoa powder and pine. I searched the hall for it. I think Aakav also smelt it because I heard him sniffing. And my eyes found my girl. She was about to enter the classroom when she looked at me.

"Mine, " I said along with Aakav.

"What?" We said in unison. I said it without looking away from her.

"Which one?" I asked when I noticed another girl beside her.

"Tall one, " he replied but then he became angry. By now they entered their classroom and we started for our own class.

"Why are you angry?" I asked him after class.

"Because of my mate, " he replied.

"Mate, but why?"

Before he could reply to me we bumped into the girls.

"I'm sorry, " she said. Her voice is so sweet, my wolf, Ian said.

"You should be, " Aakav replied coldly and walked off. "I'm sorry for his behaviour. By the way, I'm Aanav and that's my friend Aakav, " I said.

"Hi, I'm Willa and this is Zara, " she replied.

Willa nice name, Ian said. I nodded and took off from there looking for Aakav.

I found him in an empty class.

"What happened?"

"Tell your mate and her friend not to show their faces to us.'

"But why?"

"They are humans. They are weak. And we powerful wolves don't need powerless humans, " he said, hatred dripping from his words. This made me and Ian angry because he said our mate powerless.

"If you don't want your mate go and reject her but don't pull my mate into this, " I shouted at him and stormed off the class. One part was telling me to go in and apologise to the Alpha. Another part was telling Alpha or not he should respect our mate.

My last class is with my mate. I saw her struggling with the sum. I eyed her solution and saw that she did a silly mistake. I corrected her and she said thanks. Oh! How I love to hear her voice.

After college, when we reached home I looked so happy that everyone was asking the reason behind happiness. On the other hand, Aakav was looking gloomy.

When we were at his office, I ordered all the boys who attend the same college as us to come to the office through the mind link. When they came I choose four body to always guard Willa. Something unexpected happened. Aakav ordered five boys to guard Zava or Zaka, whatever her name is.

"Don't look at me like that. I ordered them because Derk forced me to, " he said. Derek is his wolf name.

"Now Derk is forcing you to look after her. Next time you would look after her willingly, " I teased him.

"That will never happen."

"Come on, you always wanted a mate."

"You are wrong, I always wanted a mate who is a werewolf. But look at her if I go and tell her I'm a werewolf she will freak out. I don't want her. I'll wait for my second chance mate."

"What is your problem with her apart of her being a 'powerless' human," I asked air- quoting 'powerless'.

"She can't be a great Luna."

"Did you forget your grandmother was also a human but she was one of the great Luna Black Moon could have." This made him think for a while.

"Think if you don't get a second chance mate what will happen? You would be thrown out of your position. Think before you do anything, " I said and went from there to my room. I lay on my bed and thought about how I wanted my mate so badly. How I wanted to hold her and never leave her. From childhood, I had dreamed how my mate would change our room like her perspective and much more.

Sleep was a thousand kilometres away from me and Willa's thought invaded my mind. I went into one of my free room and started doing her portrait. This is something which nobody knows apart from Aakav. I always painted my thoughts. I pictured her in my head and draw her. After completing it, I took it to my room which is unlikely of me. Because I never had taken a drawing to my room. I always send it to the nursery schools for the small kids or else hang it in the living room. But she is exceptional.

I hunger it on the wall above my bed. I looked around my room and felt it empty. An idea came in my mind of how to remove the emptiness from my room and I'll start it from tomorrow.
