Chapter 19: Coma

When I heard her saying it, I stiffened.

"They have returned."

These three words made me happy as well as sad. Happy that all had returned and sad thinking about their health. I opened the door and quickly went down. The first thing I saw was bodies lying everywhere with blood oozing from their different parts.

Fear came in me but one thing that kept me standing was the thought of Aanav. I searched the hall for him but didn't saw him anywhere. Dread filled me. I searched the hall again but to no avail. My breaths have become uneven. I could have fainted but thanks to Aakav who came in the hall through the front door.

"Where is Aanav?" I asked him as soon as I reached him. His cloth was covered with blood. I tried my best to ignore the blood and concentrate on him.

"Where is Aanav?" I asked again. This turn my voice raised a little. I didn't want to raise my voice at him but seeing this much blood and not seeing Aanav has taken a toll on me.

"Aakav please tell me where is Aanav?" I asked again. I tried not to faint. Aakav took me away from there and to the south wing which is the hospital. We entered it and he led me up the stairs. I could see many women waiting outside the rooms. He led me to the OT room. Aanav was laying unconscious. I wanted to go to him but the blood on him prevented me. I took baby steps backwards.

"Willa you have five minutes. After five minutes his operation will begin. It's your choice whether to go to him or go out of this too," Aakav said and went out.

My mind was telling me to go away but my heart wanted to overcome my fear and go to him. Finally, I made my decision. I went to him and hold his hand in mine. Before I could say anything to him the doctor came in.

"Miss can you please go out," a nurse said. I nodded and stood up. I tried to remove my hand from him but I couldn't. He has a firm hold on my hand. I started to freak out.

"Miss don't worry it's natural," the doctor said. He told me to face away from him. I did.

Halfway through the operation, his hold on my hand loosened. I walked out of the room without looking at him. If I look at him the I would be a crying mess. I have to be strong.

I walked out and net with my parents along with Aanav's parents. Aanav's mother was crying and his father was comforting her. I contained my tears.

"Brownie, everything will be alright," dad said and hugged me. Then mom. The tears were pricking my eyes, threatening to fall at any second but I tried my best to contain it.

And finally, Wyatt came to me. He put my head on his chest and while caressing my back, said:" Cry." The tears exploded from my eyes like fireworks. Through my blurred vision, I saw Aakav coming towards us in a clean shirt and the promise that he made came back to me.

I parted the hug and went towards Aakav. I slapped him when I reached him.

"Why?" I asked. He looked at me confused with his hand on his left cheek.

"Why did you break the promise?" I asked and took hold of his collar. "You promised that you will not let anything happen to him. Then why is he on the hospital bed?" I shouted at him. He looked ashamed. Wyatt came and pulled me away from him. He took me to the garden and made me sit on a bench.

"How are you?" He asked sitting beside me. I put my head on his shoulder and looked at the lake.

"How will you expect me to be after seeing Aanav in a hospital bed? How will you expect me to be after overcoming my feat?" I asked still looking at the lake.

"You overcame your fear?" He asked. I hummed in response. We stayed silent enjoying the comfort of mother nature.

"Can you go inside? I want to talk to her," he said. I removed my head from Wyatt's shoulder. Wyatt kissed my head and went in. I didn't look at Aakav.

"You should be there not him," I said after a moment of silence.

"I'm sorry," he said.

"Your sorry can't bring him back. So keep your fucking sorry to yourself. Why did you promise me something that you can fulfil?" I asked looking at him.

"I start I tried my best to protect him. But I couldn't I'm sorry," he said. I started crying again. He hugged me.

"Doctor wants to meet you," he said.

We went to the doctor's chamber. He told us that Aanav has a mixture of wolfsbane and silver in his bloodstream. Since these two are very dangerous for a werewolf so he is in a coma. It could take him 15 years at more to wake up. Or it could take one day. Everything depends on him and his wolf. The doctor also told us to talk to him because he can hear us.

I went to his room and closed the door. Everyone has already met him and it is my turn now. I sat beside his bed on a chair and took his hand in mine. His hand was missing the warmth. His hand was as cold as ice.

"I don't know if you can hear me or not. If yes, then please wake up. Please. Wake up fast you have to mark me," I said and kissed his forehead. "I will find again," I said and went to our room.

As soon as I stepped into our room. I felt nausea and dizziness. I quickly went to the bathroom and emptied my stomach.

The first thought that came in my mind was, I'm pregnant. I have read that the girl becomes pregnant during this kind of situations.

To be sure that is I'm pregnant or not. I gave my blood and urine sample to the gynaecologist.
