Quick note: I have made a small minor change in the appearance of my OC, Nova. Everything stays the same in the sense of her appearance outside of the fact of her eye color. The blue eye stays the same but the hazel brown will change to a grey eye. Her skin is light almost white as well but I think that is already put there. It was due to my unfinished knowledge that small error. By this, everyone can assume who her father is basically. If not enough, it's obvious by her appearance alone being THAT pretty. It will show i edited it but wanted to let you know here and for future knowledge.

On to the story! Enjoy

The second years were given something new to think about during their Easter holidays. The time had come to choose their subjects for the third year. Out of the four, only Hermione took this seriously.

"It could affect our whole future," she told Harry and Ron as they pored over lists of new subjects, marking them with checks.

"I just want to give up Potions," said Harry.

"We can't," said Ron gloomily. "We keep all our old subjects, or I'd've ditched Defense Against the Dark Arts."

"But that's very important!" said Hermione shocked.

"Not the way Lockhart teaches it," said Ron. "I haven't learned anything from him except not to set pixies loose."

"That's not true, Ron," said Nova who was laying her head on the table changing it to look him from across said table. "You've also learned which side you look best when taking pictures."

A chuckle came out of Ron's lips along with Harry who was sitting next to the female as the female herself laughed as well. The girl turned her head back to her paper when she noticed the scolding glare Hermione was giving her.

"Oh, lighten up, 'Mione," said Nova with sheepish smile. "I was kidding."

Hermione rolled her eyes and went back to her paper. They were in the Great Hall trying to sort out said schedule while also discussing the events of what Harry had discovered.

Harry, Ron, Hermione and Nova had always known that Hagrid had an unfortunate liking for large and monstrous creatures. During their first year at Hogwarts he had tried to raise a dragon in his little wooden house, and it would be a long time before they forgot the giant, three-headed dog he'd christened "Fluffy."

"I honestly don't believe it was Hagrid who did it," said Nova as she turned her head to Harry and Ron, the former next to her and the latter across from her next to Hermione as they sat in the corner away from prying ears. The Great Hall was basically empty anyways only the few other students who preferred the ample space that the long table provided choose the classes.

"Riddle might have got the wrong person," said Hermione. "Maybe it was some other monster that was attacking people..."

"How many monsters d'you think this place can hold?" Ron asked dully.

"We always knew Hagrid had been expelled," said Harry miserably. "And the attacks must've stopped after Hagrid was kicked out. Otherwise, Riddle wouldn't have got his award."

The boys spoke more, as Hermione continued to write on her paper before it was silent, till Hermione broke it.

"Do you think we should go and ask Hagrid about it all?"

"That'd be a cheerful visit," said Ron. "Hello Hagrid. Tell us, have you been setting anything mad and hairy loose in the castle lately?"

In the end, they decided that they would not say anything to Hagrid unless there was another attack. Four months had already passed since the last attack of Justin and Nearly Headless Nick and no more whispers from the disembodied voice, so they knew there was no reason to confront Hagrid. Their focus now was the classes they needed to add for their next year schedule.
