chapter 3

                                                                       Seth's pov

I'm already so done with today. I got a call from my father saying rogues were spotted near our border, I Had to take a damn chemistry test, I almost got into a fight with a wolf from another pack, and to top it all off, I'm out of freaking cigarettes. I'm walking down the hall after the bell releasing us from hell- I mean school- trying to find my best friend Jacob to tell him about the rogues, Jacob is the beta of my pack, and I'm the next alpha when I finally find my mate all power will be transferred to me and she (or he, I don't discriminate by gender) will be the next luna. I'm almost 18 and I need to find my mate by my eighteenth birthday, its pack law for alphas. 

as I was walking down the hall, looking down at my phone trying to text Jacob, I felt something tiny bump into me or more someone. I was about to yell when my senses were overwhelmed by the sweet scent of cherries and vanilla. I felt a jolt of electricity when I looked down at her. her head was down, so all I could see was her small frame and her gorgeous chestnut-colored hair. 

'MATE MATE MATE MATE MATE' my wolf Blakley repeated over and over. 

but before I could say anything she said a quiet quick "sorry" and rushed away. was it possible she didn't feel it? she didn't look up at me, and I didn't see her face. I have no idea who this tiny girl is but she was mine.  I have her scent to base off, I knew she wasn't from my pack, but at least I knew she was close. my wolf whimpered at the loss of my mate. I wanted her. I wanted her in my arms, I wanted to hold her, and kiss her, and mark her. oh, how I wanted to mark her. god help any male that looks at her, I will tear them limb from limb. shes mine and only mine. 

(authors note: yeh haha hes possessive I'm aware, but hes an alpha and male alphas are extremely possessive over there mates)

~TIME SKIP~

I was back at the pack grounds and she was still on my mind. I know I had to focus on the rouges. now more then ever, if I was gonna bring my perfect luna here soon, I needed it to be as safe as possible. I was standing with Jacob, my father, and my gamma and delta, Josh and Aiden. we were going over precautions and plans incase of rouge attacks. we were adding more guards around the back border and sending three patrol groups instead of one.

Jacob kept glancing at me, with a look of worry on his face, eventually, he spoke up. 

"whats on your mind man? we need to focus"

I growled " nothing." I didn't mean to snap at him, but my anger often gets the best of me.  

my father eventually took notice of my state, because he then spoke up "son, what happened today. you're never like this during meetings, this is important and you need to pay attention, you are to soon take over as alpha of the biggest and most feared pack in North America"

"I found my mate today" I muttered quietly 

"What?" my father asked, unable to understand me

"MY MATE. OK?! I FOUND MY FREAKING MATE TODAY AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHO THE HELL SHE IS BECAUSE SHE RAN BEFORE I COULD LOOK AT HER AND IM VERY ANNOYED BECAUSE of IM NOT SURE IF SHE RAN BECAUSE SHE WAS SCARED OF ME OR BECAUSE SHE DIDNT FEEL THE FREAKING BOND" I snapped. 

I couldn't take it anymore.  I stood up. left the room. ran outside. and shifted into my towering black wolf with a red stripe over my eye, and I took off into the woods running as fast as I could to try and calm down. I needed to find her. I need my mate. I love her.
