"Next time, Gage."

"Please, Cassie! Let me go with you," I begged.

"Maybe I can slip you in the next time. When we come back, you will be 17, almost 18. That's when you can officially join the big club. Many people already look at us differently for letting you unofficially join this young. Plus, you have to be in the club for two months officially before being allowed to go." Cassie looked at me sympathetically.

"I'll just find something to do." I shrugged.

"Go and talk to Bella." She wiggled her eyebrows.

"She's busy and just a friend."

I liked Izabella. There was no denying that. I liked her brown hair and light brown eyes. She was shorter than me and I thought it was cute too.

"Done thinking of her?" Cassie teased me.

"I wasn't thinking about her."

"Leave the boy alone, Cassiopeia," Eadric said, sneaking up behind us, "It's nice to know that an adventurous boy likes my granddaughter. She'll live the life I wanted."

"Live it then, come with us Ead! Marcy would want you to."

Eadric look down as he sighed. A sad smile touched his face, almost gut-wrenching before he looked at Cassie. The sad smile was replaced with a sincere one.

"Marcy is my adventure. We built this together and I'll see the day my son completely gets it or until I die. This hotel is my life. I can't leave it." Eadric then turned around and left.

"See, soon you'll be calling him Grandpa Ead too!" Cassie squealed as she pinched my cheeks before leaving soon after to go to her meeting.

At exactly three o'clock, I went to the front desk. I was bored and there was nothing more to explore in my room. It was pretty large for being a one-bedroom. Walking up, I saw Izabella hunched over a piece of paper with a pen in hand. It was a relatively slow day from the looks of it. Getting closer, I realized she was doodling on paper.

"Hey, Izzy."

"Gage," she smiled, not even looking up to see it was me.

She was beautiful. Her smile was captivating and I didn't like how it sat with me. She seemed like a delicate person and yet so strong at the same time. And from my experience, harsh things made a person that way.

"When are you off?"

"Anytime I want, to be honest. Grandpa and Dad won't mind. Plus, it's summer vacation and Mom would have a cow if I was stuck in the hotel all the time. Even if I don't," she mumbled off.

"Wanna show me around a bit? I'm bored."

She looked up, shock written all over her face. Her eyes were wide and a tiny blush slowly crept on her cheeks. After a few seconds, she dipped her head too. I was getting ready for rejection as she wasn't answering.
