"So how about we play a little game?", I asked, a mischievous smile on my lips.
He tilted his head slightly to the right, looking like a confused dog. His eyes narrowed and he carefully asked:
"Why would you want to play a game right now? I don't think this is the right time for anything like that."
I rolled my eyes, a smile still on my face. I chuckled and gently grabbed his right arm and pulling him towards my office. Surprisingly, he let himself be led. He could have easily freed his arm from my grip but he didn't.
Good.
" Oh come on, don't be such a party-pooper! Let's play a game to get to know each other better. It will be fun, trust me!", my voice was too loud, too happy, like always. Disgusting.
He didn't seem convinced but still followed me.
Okay, still good.
He sighed and finally freed his arm as soon as we entered my office. It was already dark outside and the little lamp on my desk didn't provide too much light but it was enough to see the room without immediately tripping over the carpet.
"Sit down. Get comfy, maybe lose the stiff jacket for once and I will get the stuff we need!", again my voice was too loud.
I turned around towards the cabinet that was installed on the wall behind my desk. I opened it and quickly grabbed what I needed and stacked ten shot glasses on top of each other, hoping I could carry them to the small table without breaking them. Obviously, that didn't work out, and before I knew what was happening the glasses fell. I closed my eyes waiting for the shrill sound of glass breaking but that never came. When I opened my eyes again, instead of broken glass on the floor I saw Leo kneeling in front of me holding the ten glasses neatly stacked on top of each other in his right hand. A big grin formed on my face, trying to hide my annoyance. What a show-off.
"Man, you are so cool!", I exclaimed. I had to suppress an eye roll.
He rolled his eyes – a gesture he learned from Tina and still looked very unnatural on him- and slowly got up until he was standing in front of me. I hated the fact that I had to look up just to meet his eyes, he was too tall. However, the grin never left my face.
"Please, be more careful in the future.", and with that, he turned around and placed the glasses on the small table. I quickly followed him and placed the vodka and Clearium, which I was still holding, down. He looked at the items with a confused expression but before he could ask I started talking again:
"So, the only thing left is for you to lose the jacket and we can start!"
I sat down, on the opposite side of Leo, and waited for him to take off that stupid jacket. The black and white jacket that made his shoulders seem too big and his pale neck stand out more than it already was. He always seemed to have a huge stick up his ass anyway and the jacket just made it all worse. It looked stiff and uncomfortable. And for this game to work he had to relax. At least at the beginning.
"No.", he simply said, his face staying expressionless.
I wasn't surprised, still disappointed but not surprised. I had to try though.
I dramatically stuck my bottom lip out and pouted.
"You are no fun, you know that?", I made my voice whiny and higher than usual, just to get my point across. Obviously, he wasn't impressed.
"What is this all about? We are in the middle of an investigation, a murderer running around the city and you want to play a game?", he slowly started to sound irritated.
